That's not how you stand up for your country. It is pathetic that people are complaining against this, yet their own countries are forced to import migrant fruit pickers from countries as far as Indonesia and nepal and Kyrgyzstan. How pathetic do you have to be ? You don't wanna work and but Don't want others to work. A shortage of farm workers created by Brexit led to 8,000 tonnes of berries going unpicked last year. Why? Ireland is one of the richest countries in the world, not to mention, the EU. Who built Ireland in the last 30 years or so? Immigrants. Irish didn't want to do certain jobs, so there you go. Whoever's capable get the jobs. Simple. Of course there are immigrants and so many lazy people (Irish included) who are taking advantage of social benefits, and that's unacceptable and ridiculous. I've seen so many females (from teenagers to adults) with tons of kids, yet no job, no interest in getting one, just laziness and a blabber talk, pff... Well, get a job, roll up your sleeves, earn your money and pay the stuff. No exceptions (unless a person's disabled, a minor or in pension). Life costs and I'm not a damn Santa Claus or the Red Cross to give while getting nothing in return. If a person's capable, do the work. Now you have a nice day

The celtic tiger was a product of the tallaght agreement that occurred in the late eighties which saw economic policies benchmarked between the various political parties and the introductionof the corporate tax rate. It was this piece of political craft-work that sowed the seeds of irelands future fiscal wealth, prior to that ireland was effectively a second World country that practically no foreign nationals had any inclination of becoming part of. Now of course foreign nationals have contributed greatly to ireland (and continue to do so) however they did not "build thus country over the last thirty years" as you have so bluntly put it. What they have done is help create the capitalist behemoth that the irish economy has become. Capitalism cannot survive in the 21st century without vast amounts of immigration. And btw, for the most part the children of foreign nationals born in ireland will not do the menial jobs their parents did when they first arrived here, so I suppose in that respect you're half right. Other people doing the jobs the irish won't do, the new-irish that is.

And IF the reason for so much immigration is that then I agree with you that it is simply just going to happen because "our own" people aren't picking up the slack. I don't see the British army on the streets of southern Ireland. Northern Ireland is different, it's part of the UK. Now you're being invaded by real invaders, as we have been in the UK for many years since at least the 1950/60s. Cultural enrichment is the phrase they throw at us if we challenge what's happening. Yeah I'd like a home like that too to live in. Paid taxes into this system all of my life (almost 60 years) but I can't afford to get on the housing ladder. Yet an illegal migrant can just rack up with some sob story and no papers and instantly gets offered this stunning property to live in free of charge as well as free spending money, free healthcare, free food, free dental treatment, free this, free that, free something else all at the expense of taxpayers who were born in this country whose history of being British goes back generations. Yet for us we get nothing, whilst these free loaders are handed everything for free at our expense. What's not to love about it? You tell me.

It's interesting to hear your side ,thanks for sharing , I'm a decendent of 1820 settlers in South Africa,visited UK as a child and again as a teen for a working holiday , I personally would not go back Im sure things are worse now no one I worked with spoke English that was one reason I went there to work .I think this will have a negative effect on your society in the long run sadly, I'm sure many share your feelings .

Ireland today is unrecognisable. Flanagan, Coveney, Varadkar etc involvement in signing the UN migration pact in 2018 set the ball in motion, opened the door to the Ireland we are witnessing today. Unvetted men coming from safe countries and planted in towns and villages all across Ireland. This is a plantation and if Irish people oppose this they are labelled. Soon Ireland will have no identity of who we are as a people because it is being taken from us. The Irish pub is dying also, no atmosphere in a pub in Ireland anymore mainly because the woke brigade killed any craic incase it offends the minority. Also alcohol price hikes and pushing non alcoholic beer (why any pub in Ireland is going along for this is madness) many pubs having to close their doors also is by design.

I'm noticing a lot more African, Indian. middle eastern, people moved in my area all working in the several hospitals in the city, it's no wonder people in villages and rural areas don't build hospitals, schools, supermarkets, and other facilities and are prepared to travel outside for miles to access these things, they knew a long time ago what was coming, no facilities, no migrants and refugees.
