    The screen is truly stunning on the Asus here! Performance looks good even with the base RTX on board. The fan noise is a bit much, But it's a great well rounded laptop overall. Appreciate the detailed and transparent feedback as always Chris Sir✌👍

    I love these OLED screens, just can't do IPS anymore on a laptop even if it's matte I prefer OLED. Shame about the fan noise, there is a lot of wattage to cool and when pushed hard you could hear it on my mic recording the voice over.

    @@rockrolly744replying to a very old comment but you can toggle some settings on the My Asus App which prevents OLED burn in, like enable hide task bar, enable pixel refresh, enable screen savers that activate every 5 minutes of inactivity, basically do not let it sit idle on any one screen mode or frame. Also, try to keep brightness at or below 50% while using (should not be a problem since it can go up to 600 nits, that's more than enough even in brightly lit rooms), and keep your laptop on dark mode, since burn in happens when the pixels have to light up at high brightness on one single frame displayed. Enable all these and IMO your OLED display should be good to go for more than 3 years or even more, depending on your usage, and even if burn in does happen it will be not as severe and pretty ignorable.

    I've got a similar version but only with a 5900HX and yes the screen is gorgeous (mine is 2K 90hz). Only annoying thing is that it forces HDR off in battery mode. Honestly I was expecting better fan noise given the weight but I do like how it doesn't "look" like a gaming laptop.

    Great review as always. I actually use VivoBook Pro 15 2022 model with Ryzen 9 6900HX and RTX 3050 Ti and USB4 as my daily driver for couple of months now and I can say that this is a pretty superb device for any kind of work you throw at it. Regarding that i7-13650H or last year's i7-12650H, just want to add one information, those are actually Core i5 and you can see that if you check the number of P cores, only 4, compared to 6 in i7 models, like 12700H or 13700H. However, Intel calls them i7 because they have same amount of L3 cache in i7 models, 24MB, compared to 18MB in i5. In every generation since 10th gen, Intel has at least one of such models with Core count of Core i5 and L3 cache of i7 and then calls it an i7 which is a bit misleading as you'll never get the level of multi-core performance compared to a true i7 due to reduced core count.

  • @Techtablets

    6900HX is a very nice APU and you have the Ti so that's even better. But still for my video editing work this is fine. This very video was edited on the machine and I forgot to mention it on the outro I would edit the whole video on it. Handled it fine, but yes a lot of fan Nosie in the performance mode. By the way how is your fan noise? That's so typical of Intel, misleading!

    @@Techtablets Fan noise and battery level are the two main reasons, I picked up the AMD version for a slim Laptop where cooling solution is limited. I mainly edit and encode lots of HDR videos and some 3D rendering using Maya and Blender. For normal usage, I am getting over 9 hours battery in Balanced mode and brightness around 60%-70%. Video encoding using Nvidia NVENC, the fan noise is pretty minimal, increasing for a very short momemnt and then normalize below 38db. During CPU stress, it is a bit loud but nowhere near to the Intel Counterpart and the maximum temparature I've seen in performance mode is around 92 degree C for a very short time and averaging around 82-86 C. Another great thing, at least in the AMD version, is the GPU TGP. Asus highlight this as 35W TGP, 50W with Dynamic Boost, but in mine, if you use the performance mode while playing games, the CPU gets limited to around 35 to 40W at max but the GPU runs at steady 50W, unlike other laptops where dynamic boost only works if the CPU allows releasing power. BTW, 13650H is more than enough for video editing but I was simply stating that its performance is more closer to Core i5 H series Processors than Core i7.

  • @Techtablets

    @Techtablets

    Oh, that battery life is better than I can get with this Intel 13620H version, just over 7-8 hours with 30% brightness. Mostly Chrome, some Netflix, amazon prime etc light loads. So far as a travel video editing machine i'm now using it I'm really happy with the performance with even just the RTX 3050 is really good for editring with the Cuda cores. Encoding video is very quick but the fan noise as mentioned is the trade-off for such performance. I hope to see a Ryzen 7000 series version of this mode soon and hopefully review it!

    11:01 Does all Asus laptops come with Battery Care Mode? That would be great as that will ensures the longevity of the laptop and its battery. I don't need to keep checking the battery meter if reaches 80% or not, or forgot to remember that you left the power on and kept plugging to the laptop for hours. Battery Care Mode might be useful if you want to charge the laptop overnight while you are sleeping (and if your laptop has 20% of power left or less), or if you want to play any PC games that may require hours of longplay.

    It's got 3 fan speed settings - quiet, "automatic" and performance. So you can sort of adjust it yourself, on automatic (the "middle" option of sorts) it stays relatively quiet if I don't boot up 50 tabs of 3 different browsers. I've yet to do any video/photo editing, but with a DAW open and a bunch of other stuff running in the background it was pretty quiet.

    Hi, thanks for the review, there is something I don't understand, do the models K6502VV and K6502VU (the ones with i9 13900) also have an upgradable RAM? This is what they say on the website for the model you have: Memory: 16GB DDR4 on board. Total system memory upgradeable to:32GB. *Dual-channel memory support requires at least one SO-DIMM module. Expansion Slots (includes used): 1x DDR4 SO-DIMM slot While this is what is written for the models I mentioned: Memory: 8GB DDR5 on board, 8GB DDR5 SO-DIMM. Total system memory upgradeable to:16GB *Dual-channel memory support requires at least one SO-DIMM module. Expansion Slots: 1x DDR5 SO-DIMM slot So, probably that's a very stupid question because I am quite naive, but does it mean that the "better" models can have only 16gb?

I have surface 8 pro, so the monitor isn't a big deal on that laptop for me. Great brand yes. I love these OLED screens, so many people say they get screen burn but if you set the pixel shift, auto hide task bar, and then screen saver for 1 minute I've never had issues. Over two years using my LG CX 48" 120hz OLED. Not a single bit of burn it. But 1 dead pixel is very top right, barely notice it.
