Is this monitor and the VG249q1a the same?

I dont know if its placebo effect. But in Dota2, my last-hitting mechanics (and im a support so my damage is relatively lower) became much better from 35-55% after i switched to an HKC 27" 144Hz screen.

I also feel the same way when I game on a monitor with a faster refresh rate than I'm used to. Dunno if it's just my imagination but I seem to do better in game :p

Higher refreshrate monitors doesn't really affect in moba games. You can see the smoothness but compared to fps games, it can really boost your gaming experience.

165hz is only available via DisplayPort cable connection. It doesn't work with HDMI.

Human eye can see up to 60 FPS, but can perceive up to 1000 Hz. You would notice a huge differences between 60 Hz and 120 Hz monitor, but the differences between 120 and 200 hz are barely noticeable. But higher refresh rate can improve your reaction time.

I got to tell you Franz, 120 Hz is surely better and more fluid than 120fps. However, anything above 120fps is just not noticeable.

Anyone else having the issue with the monitor displaying certain yellow colours as washed out green? It's really annoying, and the only way to fix it is to change the monitor mode to Cinema and then adjust RGB + set the tint to reddish. Once that's done, yellow's and green's look okay, but it messes up some other colours. Anyone got any fix for this?

@@agsechogd6406 I've tried different cables, everything. The only way you can fix this is set the tint to reddish in panel options. But then some colours such as yellow will change to more brown/reddish too. I also sent the original monitor back to asus, and they sent me a replacement, which had the exact same issue. In the end, I sold the monitor and bought a different one, I'd recommend getting something else

I have a Dell Ultrasharp that is great for office work and hobby photography. Unfortunately no space for a gaming monitor. Not sure if a portable gaming monitor will be worth it for me.

my whole life changed when i bought my Asus TUF VG279qm 280hz refresh rate from sa 60hz/75hz monitor even the 144hz naging shit na sa paningin ko 😂

Master M. Really? I reckon your gpu must be a top end currently. And your monitor must only have 1080p resolution or else 240 fps is impossible to achieve. If your games fps cannot reach 240 then your monitors 240h refresh rate is useless. If you do have like 3090 gpu and you play a 1080p resolution monitor for you to achieve that 240fps and made use of that 240h refresh rate then i pity you. Using a top tier gpu on a 1080p monitor is such a waste.

@@bjsalon my Valorant FPS ave around 370fps based on what im seeing in game metrics my PUBG lite around 280fps in game metrics also my ETS2 around 180fps all of them are custom graphics settings since i dont like so much graphics makes my eyes drained i do only max out the game graphics if i wanted to appriciate the game then turn it back on my comfy graphics settings

The VG249q is the "older" version, but almost the same except for max refresh rate (144hz and 165hz) [and some other minor differences, e.g. older versions replaces one DP into a vga port]. If you can get the older model for cheaper and budget is tight, then that might be a good option for you.

@@Steven-ol7wv I kinda fixed it. It's about the Skin Tone setting it comes out of the box and the fact that you can't change it without changing the GameVisual mode from Race Mode. I changed the GameVisual to FPS mode and turned brightness up to the max, turned saturation down a bit and most importantly, changed the skin tone to "reddish" from "natural". For some reason, Asus engineers think that people are "naturally" green... It gets better when you change it to reddish. You can tweak with the other settings to find your sweetspot.

@@barbosa40 yw bro but from what i've been using the monitor for 2 months now, the problems don't end here with the colors. this is a very cheap and problematic unit from asus which is very sad. it came out the box slightly unbalanced, slightly angled, but that wasn't hard to fix. sometimes the monitor doesn't power up at all and i have to unplug and plug the power cable to fix it. sometimes, the windows login screen doesn't show up and i turn the monitor off and on and it shows up. let alone the micro stutters probably causing from the overclocked 165 hz. i encounter these problems occasionally even though i plugged the monitor with the display port cable that came in the box. all and all, i pretty much knew this was gonna happen, that this was the sinful product of asus that they only release in specific regions but i had no other choice to take it because it was a gift. i'm going to keep it because i don't want to bother with service or anything else because i have no other monitor to use in the meantime but if you bought the monitor recently, just keep these in mind, there are better options from lg and viewsonic at similar prices.

How is it? It is good after a year using?

as long as you have the compatible display input (eg. hdmi, displayport etc) then the monitor will work, we do have a video explaining the basics of monitor selection kzread.info/dash/bejne/mqthtMuce6TcYaw.html but even if they are compatible you should also look at if your pc is capable of utilizing the fast refresh rate of the monitor

the Q1R goes up to 165hz, the QGR only up to 144hz if eking out the fastest refresh rate is what you want then the Q1R is it (it's somewhat debatable though how much of a difference there really is on a practical level between 165hz and 144hz)
