Thanks for the vid. No quick suspend and quick resume options are a major deal breaker for me. I'd love to get the GPD Win Mini, but I won't because of this.

Good review. You covered a lot of issues that nobody else discusses. I too had the BitLocker default to enabled after swapping in a 2TB SSD, though it hadn't encrypted the drive yet. I ordered one of those port covers. I would suggest one of those magnetic USB C adapters to minimize wear and tear on the USB C port. Also no issues with my 512GB micro-SD card (Samsung). My Sandisk Extreme 1TB is due to arrive tomorrow.

Currently using one I got on Amazon, the Aucon 24Pins, PD 100W, 10Gbs adapter. I plan to get a right angle one as I think it will be better for the ROG Ally having the cable go toward the back instead of up. I also recommend a USB C cable with a readout that shows realtime power in Watts. I got a 100W one from Baseus. I did see sustained 30W APU power with that cable, the Anker 715 (Nano II 65W), and UGREEN Steam Deck Dock.

Not sure if anything has been updated since this video, but I just tested out the sleep on my rog ally and it slept without waking up.

Agreed, Seems better now. The trick is either use the command center menu or carefully press the power button without triggering the finger print sensor. I think that is what causes the immediate wakeup. Now, windows being windows there are times it seems like it would wake up randomly but at least it mostly works. On battery I still think hibernate is still safer if you want to minimize battery drain.

great video. i've also just stuck to Hibernating with my Ally, and yea, its much slower than the Deck but not a deal breaker. Please update us if your SD card does end up breaking.

So far so good on the sandisk extreme 1tb. It's about half full. I don't use it super heavily as AAA games are installed on the 2tb nvme and I've been playing a lot of diablo 4 lately.

It finally broke for me. 2 cards. both recovered on pc. Tried a tiny 64gb one and slot seems to still work but I have zero trust in it so I no longer use the sd card slot. Makes me sad.

Hi man, great video!. Thanks for the power information, very useful. I just got the device and after all the updates, still getting the same issue you show about the sleep, if I just press the power button once, device shuts down and never wakes up again unless fully shutdown, have you found a solution for that aside from the hibernate function?

So after all these updates I decided to retest sleep vs hibernate. For me with nothing running except armory crate (best case scenario), if I use just my fingernail to push the sleep button it seems to sleep. Then a full press of the power button wakes it up for me. My theory is the finger print sensor will trigger immediate wake up when trying to sleep.

For me this was a deal breaker, I already tried several configurations and kept happening, it breaks the experience a lot. I returned it :/ @@arogantech

I got it brand new got it yesterday. I put asus rog in sleep mode. And it was unresponsive when i woke it up. And it was just doing the log in. And yh nothing lol. Was stuck there with the loading just doing its animation is normal for the ally

I have the nyxi controllers and gotta say they are way more comfortable than the rog ally

so jsaux doesn't let boosting. here neither, with a ugreen 140w pd charger
