I expect a ktc42P5, it seems to me that the panel is similar to the Asus. Hope the firmware improves over time...

Just ordered this for $850. Feel like I got a steal

There are VESA adapters available to adopt 300x300 to 100x100 and if the monitor arm is strong enough for the weight, it works perfectly fine.

Yeah i realized that after I finished the video 😞 I ordered the adapter so when I get another monitor that has a larger VESA Mount , I can still mount it ;)

Did this monitor work correctly with G-Sync with minimal VRR flickering?I have the LG c3 right now and it says "not compatible" and causes a lot of VRR flickering - I mean a lot (even though it's certified on their website!). I can see that the "compatible" message pops up which is promising.

the monitor can be instaled in the wall? comes with suport or any vesa suport will do the job?

Great video thanks for sharing. Does the monitor go into standby mode when you switch off the PC? Apparently OLED TV’s used as monitors do not!…

Yes it'll go into standby mode ! Its not just OLED TVs its pretty much all TVs, I think it has something to do with missing specific signals either on the TV side or PC/MAC

So I just picked this monitor up..........don't hold the power button on the remote too long, it will turn off and back on and make you think something is wrong. I do get some signal loose and the screen going black then coming back on, another issue you will find if you google it, I haven't found the root cause yet, could be my 2nd pc that my Elgoto capture is hooked up too.

youve also got the BENQ Mobiuz at 48 inches too, dont forget 43 at 4K is the sweet spot for PPI (picture sharpness clarity) once you go above that size 4K begins to look more pixelated and blocky.

Its beautiful display with so many issues, shouldn't be sold to the public, as the monitor is not ready yet, Asus hasn't finished the job. I have to send it back after one week use, the panel develop horizontal lines a cross visible on grey background. Most of the people are complaining, costing too much money with too many issues. Will definitely wait for the next release, I hope to be better.

Yes it’s a beautiful display, I haven’t received that issue, but it has effective others. I think quality control is the issue, and the firmware updates

Hi, thanks for your video. Have you been able to run games in HDR without washed out colors? My PG42UQ should be delivered by the end of the week but I read so many complaints about broken HDR even with the latest firmware that I don't know what to think about... Thanks for your feedback.

@@FIREWOLFTECH I've got mine today, I rapidly upgraded the firware to v033, and now HDR is broken like many complain about (washed out colors, poor contrast). If the pic brightness and the ABL were not much better with V033, I'd have kept the V028. Unfortunately, it seems that Asus can't take the best from both versions... Edit : Actually, I didn't initially activate the 10-bit colors profile in the Nvidia panel. If Windows still looks dull, now at least now HDR videos and games seems to be working normally, it's much better!

@@Bluemanta69 Asus is not supporting this monitor well, numerous firmware issues on this PG42UQ, they have released a few firmware updates but nothing in 4 months and each update fix one thing and break another thing, I return mine after 3 week of use and buy a LG C2 42" for $ 900 no issue on SDR or HDR on Windows.

@@veilsides2k2001 Hi, yes I read that multiple times but for me the mirror screen is not compatible with my setup (window near my desk). If it was only a gaming screen, yes I would probably go for the C2. Besides, the ABL on the PG42UQ works really well now, not sure it’s the same on the C2. I’m already relieved to see that HDR works now quite well in HDR games and videos, I just need to switch from SDR windows to HDR Windows when needed.

how is it holding to this day? Have you experienced any issues of the monitor going blank and unresponsive? I'm planning on getting the 48" version but based on Amazon reviews a lot of people are getting that issue in the latest firmware update.

I wish I could give you a good response, since I’m focusing on testing out and reviewing monitors now, I don’t keep them longer than 30 days. I’m aware that there are reviews that state they have issues with firmware, best way to find out is getting one yourself and hopefully you get a good one

Pretty much. I wasn’t intended to when I got the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8, but after doing a video on it, I enjoyed making the content for it and figured I’d make more content about the latest monitors

I use a Type C cable to DisplayPort. It’s the only way I can get the highest refresh rates on the Mac Studio since it doesn’t support HDMI 2.1 (hopefully the M2 version adds it). My 3080Ti had HDMI 2.1 so it allows me to use the studio on DisplayPort.

Monitor arms are usually VESA standard 100x100, so you would need to purchase an extension adapter (100x100 to 300x300) this ASUS ROG SWITFT uses 300x300 VESA mounting. You also need to make sure your monitor arm supports the weight which is about 30lbs

Yes you can 🔥 just make sure you’re using a compatible HDMI cable and putting it into HDMI 2.1 instead of 2.0

@@joshspanton8579 it’s hard to say if it’s the “best” since I just started unboxing and reviewing monitors. I do believe it’s a great monitor for 4K gaming and the OLED panel looks great too. Some people have issues with this monitor that they’ve shared in the comments below. But I feel you on going back to console to avoid hackers 😅

@@FIREWOLFTECH a still mite give it a go and buy one because some times it’s just luck of the draw a mite get one that has no problems. You hear this about most monitors there is always something wrong. It’s just that Monitor looks so nice and crisp. At the moment I have a Samsung Odyssey G7 and it’s good but the Picture quality isn’t great. When I watch cod videos on my phone the clarity is just worlds Apart

@@joshspanton8579 if you get a good one, you’ll love this monitor. Just remember if you want to mount it on it a desk arm, you’ll need an adapter because it only supports 300x300 vesa mount

The price is insane though, Get the LG G2 instead and use the money you saved to throw a party!
