Kyle - I had hopes of visiting SA during new Moon Aug 2023, but plans got dashed. Now I will be photographing new Moon Aug 2023 in Moab & Monument Valley Utah. I guess it will be Milky Way season 2024 in SA.

Hi and thank you for all your detailed videos! We are heading out to the Cederberg during Dec and I want to start attempting nught/moon/astro . I have a Canon 800d and have been looking at the EF 24mm f2/8 as it seems to have greatvreviews and a good buy budget wise as well...would you recommend this lens as a good investment and would filters be necessary? 😊

Hi :) glad you are enjoying my videos. Yes that lens sounds great! Remember in December the Milky Way isn’t up. It’s up in the southern hemisphere throughout the winter months. The 14th Dec is the Geminids meteor shower which should be really good. Summer months are great for star trails so make sure you watch my star trail video 👍 no I don’t use any filters for night photography
