Astromania Optics I SHOW HOW BAD THEIR QUALITY CONTROL IN PRODUCTION IS - LOOKS TERRIBLE TO ME

Astromania Optics I SHOW HOW BAD THEIR QUALITY CONTROL IN PRODUCTION IS - LOOKS TERRIBLE TO ME. How can I buy 3 adapters on the same order and each fits differently? In my opinion Astromania Optics has absolutely POOR Quality Control processes.

I used to work as a Tech for an importer of some very exotic US made telescopes in the UK. A Chinese outfit who also happened to own the SkyWatcher brand bought it out and almost immediately repair and maintenance ceased, because there were no spare parts. They preferred to use the parts in finish units. QC none existent, as this cost money and time. I can't imagine what the budget stuff would be like. Unfortunately, now that I work for another US owned engineering firm in the UK, I can see the same trait in cutting tests short and getting rid of them altogether, because products have to meet their launch deadline. Its all none sensical Tollgates, and Sprints. Bad practice is quick to catch up, if it saves money and increase profits for the share holders.

I am skeptical about the manufacturing specs as mentioned by the manufacturer in this video as reviews by others mention this problem going back to 2017. I have seen quality T rings, but they are almost twice the price of those in this video.

To be fair, most of these rings by other manufacturers are in the $25 range, so $7.99 is not going to be a brilliantly accurate product. They probably literally did buy the rejects from some other manufacturer and offered them at discount prices, that's the only way you can get such variance in quality. I mean, their website looks like it's from the 90's and even it's copyright date still says 2021 with a paypal logo next to it, for some reason. They don't look like the most high-quality team over there.... I guess your lesson here is that if a deal looks to good to be true, it's usually is. Luckily you're only in for $24. Thanks for warning us!

This is very interesting. How could anyone mess up something as simple as a camera T-adapter? I have numerous T adapters for my Canon cameras and have never encountered this problem. I also don't purchase certain astro equipment, T adapters included, off of Amazon or eBay. I did purchase an Astromania helical focuser which I have had no problems with. People might not even notice this problem if they had only purchased one adapter. Pretty embarrassing when 3 of them all work differently. Not sure where these are manufactured but all of mine were made in Japan or Taiwan.

chuck To me this just proves Astromania has a very poor QC program implemented. Getting three (3) off the shelf at the same time all different isn't a good look Astromania❗️
