    The Vatican has the largest astrological library in the world. I know a woman who's brother was working in there, not as an astrologer but he talked about all these ancient breathtakingly beautiful books in there. Be a good place to get locked in overnight except you would have to be able to understand and read many languages.

    Various systems and techniques work because astrology is alive, the way the Universe and WE are alive. It's not "just" a set of rules to follow and symbols trying to tell us something. I used to think of astrology as a tool I used. Now I feel it is the other way around. Or perhaps astrology is working through me. Or all of these. Reciprocal in some way. We are a part of, not apart from, what we observe and the lens through which we live.

    I have always found that the knowledge of one's astro personality can assist one not only to understand themselves in their actions and reactions but also assist others to know and understand the same. It can be useful in many realms in personal affairs as well as business. Everyone can have help in both areas. To know and understand yourself and others is a blessing in disguise. Never underestimate the power of that knowledge.It is far from boring and it is what the world could use more of, especially in this day and time.

    "it feels stuck"... "as if we needed to be more stuck" 57:24 - imho that is the majority of astrology videos on youtube. takes truly great astrologers (and/or humans) to understand the role of astrology within the unlimited field that lies beyond it. and that is exactly what i find valuable in astrology: it can help you understand your character, the place where you tend to get *stuck* and perhaps then free yourself through insight. everything that has been created can change. i too am stuck every time i cannot see it, or hold on to it for fear of what might happen when i let it go.

    The idea of (a true) diversity (of astrologies) reminds me of Jodorowsky's comment about The Tower card in his "Way of Tarot" book. He notes how in the bible the Tower of Babel, its destruction and the proliferation of languages is more a blessing than a catastrophe to mankind.

    So eye opening. Thank you. We need to stop being afraid to fail, to be different, as long as we have will, reason, faith and the ability to understand we can be wrong as long as there is a good purpose. I see is a lot in my spiritual practice, where there may be negative visions but we immediately try to look for ways of changing those negative possibilities. I can see the relationship a bit better between different forms of divination now, and eases my mind a bit from trying to pursue the elusive truth, which there are many. Thank you so much!

    It is relative to the observer. As an electronic tech a long time ago, I learned of a phenomenon called the Miller effect across a capacitance from the input to output of the amplifier. The capacitance had the effect of electrically appearing larger amount of capacitance as compared from the other side because of the gain of the amplifier. This is physics. It is relative to your position of observation; neither is wrong. I think maybe similar to both of your two different approaches with astrology. I have learned from both of your works.

    What is Rob Hand talking about ''same results''? A good book is Under One Sky, where 12 Astrologers, including the two here, looked at a chart. 12 at times very different people were described. Outcome is, most Astrologers are talking nonsense, even all of them, since their ideas lead to profoundly different perceptions of reality.

His books are very useful but he is so in love with hearing himself speak, so self-referencing and so judging of others’ astrological choices and styles. I'm amazed that Robert Hand, who I consider to be one of the best astrologers in the world, still seems blind to the obvious problem with the Jyotish sidereal zodiac. Not only is it based on a mistake (fixing the zodiac to the constellations rather than the solstices and equinoxes) but it just doesn't work. Of course you can still get an accurate reading from a Jyotish astrologer, but that doesn't mean that Jyotish is working. It just means that you've got a very intuitive astrologer. I have friends who can give an accurate reading without any astrology at all. All you have to do is give them a name. And in fact, you don't even have to do that! You can just ask, "Tell me about this person I am interested in" and they can take it from there. So we have to separate the intuition factor from the question of whether an astrology technique works or not. Otherwise we will always have muddy waters around what truly works, standing on its own, and what requires intuition to "work." IMHO. Thanks for the video!

    To be fair to Hand, he did say that having two Zodiacs which "seem" to work is a logistical problem for all of astrology, but you are right, he and Forrest then went on in Politically Correct mode as if this lack of logic didn't matter.

  • @ellisgarvin

  • @roseelima

    Ellis Garvin I disagree with you in the sense that traditional Jyotish using the Sidereal Zodiac doesn't work. The most accurate reading I ever got when I was only 15 came from a Vedic Astrologer. Based on the planetary cycles (Dashas) something that doesn't exist in Western Astrology, that man predicted with high accuracy my profession, my marriage, physical and psychological features of my husband, birth of my daughter, divorce and a second marriage. I got so blown away by watching all that happening that I started to step in the Vedic system after 12 years immersed in Western. It's been 21 yrs since I started to study Astrology (I'm 41 now).

  • @roseelima

    @roseelima

    7 жыл бұрын

    Ellis Garvin Now considering the Jyotish mistake you mentioned: if we're going to criticize the Sidereal Zodiac by using fixed stars as reference, we can throw similar criticism on the Tropical Zodiac since it doesn't represent the constellations irregularly (the way they physically are in the skies). This lack of physical correspondence is one of the reasons why Astronomers trash Western Astrology as well. More recently some astrologers have tried to use what they call "Constellational Zodiac" which is more aligned to the real physical features of the constellations but also not free of questioning.
