It's amazing to me how the wh40k community came from reading directly off of the wiki, to Baldermort and friends. We truly are lucky to have such high quality content and lore to listen to.

Nice. Knights are the coolest thing in 40k. It's definitely the best thing that could happen to a person in the setting. Maybe being a titan princips is about the same. Bigger engine, but you need a crew. Plus, in a knight, you can talk to ancestors when you're in the throne.

The contrast between Kasrkin and Kreig towards their fellow soldiers are night and day. Where the Kreig are contemptuous. the Kasrkin are kind. Where one feels none match them and only few are near peers, the other encourages the tired men of the line ot fall back and regroup, so they can join in later. While the Kreig have their place as it is a hard galaxy always thirsting for war. the Kasrkin are those I would gladly serve beside, for if I must be out there, for if I must Die out there. I rther it be by someone who has humanity enough in them to know how to take joy as they can, and to give reassurance that their fellows are not alone.

I like to think that first one is the backstory for SGT Morrow (Darktide).

I love this episode. I'm a guard fan. I was a ground-pounder, and all-too-mortal. So, they're the ones that feel really _right_ to me.

Ah, the Guards, the basic footmen of humanity and the Imperiun. Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Thrown! Farts for the Inquisition! Comments for the Algorithm!

The kreig story starting with them claiming that krieg is the best while all others are weak is… interesting. I’ve always characterized kriegers as having a bit of a strange martyr complex. Well… maybe martyr complex is the wrong term but I never saw them as being prideful. I always thought they would think of themselves as unworthy of grace or mercy unlike the other astra militarum regiments who didn’t betray the imperium. I always saw them as people deserving of a strange form of pity for the fact that they throw their lives away so readily when if they only had a bit of self preservation they could perhaps do more good in their lifetimes.

'They are the Scalple. We are the Shovel.' While I utterly am DISGUSTED by the continued contemptible arrogance of Kreig? It is not without warrent or merit. You do not come into and survive that society without it being drummed into you that you WILL die and it WILL be in the service of others and you have no other purpose. That sort of sentement does not breed kindness. Still. I imagine the men and women of Kreig have htier own stories, their own private jokes, their own waysof coping. For even with their indoctronation and bone deep fortitude beaten into them? They are still unaugmented humanity.

How are so man Cadians still around? Weren't they on Cadia when it broke apart? They defended Cadia and the Cadian Gate, right. They aren't...weren't like the Kriegers who ship out every week, never to return. There can't be that many purple eyed warriors left in the Imperium, can there?

Well, recent lore states they sent out millions in armies across the imperium. And it’s more to do with their doctrines. Cadian copycat regiments are everywhere, as so many nobles went to cadia to ‘see how it’s done’. So they use this rational to justify Cadia being the most often seen main line regiments. I’m not sure I agree, or really like it. I’d have preferred they let another regiment shine now. But that’s the decision they made. Weird. But true. ;)
