This is one of my favourite buildings. It exemplifies the indoor/outdoor architectural concept in the best possible way. It sits lightly on the landscape, so creative.
the hallway looks like a museum. so stunning
2:01 I’m sorry but I cannot take him seriously when he’s struggling to stay on that scooter 😂
This is STUNNING! I LOVE how they’ve used a natural green roof I think all homes should have this
I would love to live in here. It’s like a stress reliever seeing greens around the house and the fresh air the view everything about the house😫
Well done to the 2 artists for building this most wonderful modern work / live building. Stunning and brave
So you can say this builder *MOLESTED* the land
We have a bit of moss on our roof but not enough to use a lawn mower
My absolute favourite home. Perfect in every way.
THIS! This is a neighbor to my dream home.
I like how Kevin persists in eating that plant on the roof though he clearly doesn't like the taste
i thought this was minecraft for a minute lmao
The Forest of Dean I hear so much about! Especially it’s landscape and hills that are good for biking
I really like it, but I always struggle to reconcile eco-friendly with a mountainside of CO2 emitting concrete

I completely understand wanting a comfortable home that is well insulated and such. But i totally agree it is a joke to pretend this home is eco friendly. The first principle of ecology/efficiency is REDUCE. Sorry old couple, but if you really were trying to be "sustainable" or "green" or whatever the house would be like 25% the size of what was built. Go ahead and build your mansions, i say. But don't pretend such projects are good for the environment because you pretend to care, and put some grass on the roof.
Why did they feel the need to call it unmolested
This is a brilliant tribute to functional and sustainable architectural design. A hint for the 1950s and 1960s with some 21st century building technology. Bravo!

I'm curious how this huge house is a tribute to sustainable architecture. I guess it depends on what is meant by sustainable.
Stunning! What a wonderful space!!! :)

How much did it cost to make the house?
"the only way to achieve an energy effiecient house is to start new" - as an architect I must say this is the most untrue thing I ever heard on this channel :) To tear down and build new is an act of violence that wastes ALOT of energy. You can make old things effiecient with the right concept. What they wanted is just a cool hill house.
@martinlehtonen

They didn't tear anything down! They didn't want to live in a house that is inefficient. though to make a old tudor house energy efficient would cost ALOT!
@SmeeGuitar

@@martinlehtonen yes and sometimes it IS easier and cheaper to tear down. I also have a project where the substance is not useful at all. But the general quote about energy efficiency is wrong. That was my only point. Every house can be energy efficient if you change the right and smart things. Insulation is not that expensive

In this case concrete is an (expensive) but decent choice, but it amazes me how people seeking insulated, energy efficient homes use concrete. It's insulative value is actually quite abysmal, in the low single digits.

its disappointing that both studios lack of views, as they are simply open to internal courtyards. In theory they will spend there most of their days.

Maybe they don't want to be distracted. Some prefer studios with views, others prefer blank walls. Also it means the work and rest time are more divided
"RELATIVELY UNMOLESTED"????! DO YOU EVEN BEGIN TO COMPREHEND THE ECOSYSTEM THAT EXISTED THERE 2000 YEARS AGO...!!

Interior looks kinda tacky because of all the paitings and frames hanging.
1. It is too big. 2. Lacks space saving. Better to make two floors, than one wide to ruin more of land. For me this is not true green building, It is masked like it, but it is too grand for just two people. That is why I find it ugly piece of architecture and waste of space. I find other grand desing buildings in series more or less the same in a way of wasting the space.

I suppose you could build housing estates or even towns along the same design, with studio and 1,2 or 3 bed flats arranged around courtyard gardens and pedestrian walkways all under green rooftops, providing parks or allotments. But projects like this are unfortunately only ever built for weaithy people and not as social housing. So yes, not truly 'green'.
