Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate. Is the last, most powerful DBS ever the greatest of them all?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The new Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate is the most powerful regular production car Aston has ever produced. It's also the last of the current generation of Aston DBS models and Aston reckons it's the best handling DBS ever created too. Let's find out if that's true..

Harry, during a visit to the factory the question was asked ‘why the doors swing upward on opening’ on all of their models. The explanation was that most vehicles are sold in North America. Over there, the kerb edges are considerably higher than European, so to prevent the door edge whacking the kerb, they are designed to swing upwards and clear the edge - clever! 👍
@NarcFreedom
Жыл бұрын
I cannot imagine parking this car on the street anywhere in the US, let alone parallel parked against a kerb with some idiot in front and behind. I would in fact advise against it. I feel like the upswing is more of an ergonomic thing. It allows you to get into the car with a little wider opening without opening the door as far.
@matthewp9015

@@NarcFreedom you’ve never been to Beverley Hills then if you think these kinds of cars aren’t parked on the street. When I was there they had Veyrons parked outside the shops. Always a good day when harry posts
I've only recently found about the harry's garage format and I love it dearly. I've noticed that whenever there's a somewhat sporty car passing by the camera angle change for the wheel view. That's make love this channel even more
This car is flat out gorgeous! I love the shots you are capturing of it too! Great work!!
I must have watched 40 of Harry's vids and NEVER seen him take a dump on any aspect of any car like he crushes that center console.
Great content big H as always. I’ve been watching your videos for months and always squirmed at the giant pothole at Eau Rouge. I was lucky enough to be passing by yesterday to sample Burford, a ‘squirt up the hill’, the ‘bumpy bit of road’ and Eau Rouge, glad it’s now been filled in! What a cracking road that is 👍
Great and down to earth review as always! And two videos in one day! Woohoo!🎉

Harry, @8.25, that's a nice E46 in the background. Still the best 3 series ever, in my opinion.
Awesome review of beautiful machine! Cheers Harry!
Fabulous car and very enjoyable review Harry. Next time you have one of these you may find it simpler when coming out of manual mode back to Auto to simply pull the + (upchange RH paddle) and hold for a few seconds and it will automatically drop back into auto mode. No need to press the D button on the centre console. Similarly, to engage neutral when sitting stationary for a while, pull back both paddles simultaneously and hold for a moment and it will drop from manual/drive into neutral.
I've been getting used to the most recent Aston Styling, but this one just looks awesome off the bat.

Harry, the colour of that paint is my absolute favorite. That's what midnight blue is to me.
Fantastic content.
Nice review Harry. Astons tend to age very well and this car is no exception. Would agree with you, the centre console on a car costing this much should not look like a 40k Mercedes of a few generations back. Thankfully the new DB12 has rectified this but its taken Aston too long to sort this out.
Something about astons 👍 What an absolutely stunning car 🥰 Usual brilliant video harry 👏
Just looks menacing in that colour with those wheels. Love it.

Great review and objective. I really love my DBS and just enjoying a plan B after the Imola GP was cancelled. 5 days driving through Italy and France really proved the GT capability. Relaxed fast and comfortable to drive the car seems to attract positive attention that my 911 didn’t and the engine is just a gem especially out of a toll plaza. Av mpg of 24 and an average speed of 74 mph so very capable as the touring car that I hoped it would be. Not sure the 770 gives you that much more but the styling and handling sound very appealing. I get a rush each time I start the engine and just love my time behind the wheel. All in all despite the size I love my car.

Great video Harry. As an owner of a previous generation Aston I really didn’t like these. Recently the local dealer arranged an open day to drive the DBS both in Volante and Coupe and wow, just wow, what a car so the Ultimate looks good. However the EU have repealed the EV cut off (UK yet to) so the idea this is the last ICE Aston seems flawed. JLR have made a similar move and I think it is a massive mistake. Our Italian and German cousins haven’t! I just hope the next generation of Aston has ICE (maybe V8 / V12 hybrid) as an option.

The Austin Allegro had a similar shaped steering wheel. They called it 'Quartic' I think, and remember it being the subject of criticism and mirth at the time. Yes the dashboard area as a whole is a mess in the DBS and should'nt be in a car costing so much.
