Absolutely gorgeous, its not just a block or 2 of modern interesting buildings, its as far as I can see. What a great trip this must have been. How exciting, I found your channel on a Kate Bush video and had to click it, glad I did. Hope you are ok, and when the Covid lockdown is over are on again to more exploring. I have to say I prefer the name Astana, and its nice to hear you say there is a city music hall, its not often a Muslim city will proudly display something like that.

Hello! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! For some bizarre reason it was in the Held in Review section, so apologies for any delays in replying. I absolutely love Kate Bush... she is my favourite artist and such an inspiration to me. Just think... she was the inventor of the wireless mic for live shows!!!! I've asked for The Jig of Life to be played at my funeral 😃 Anyways.. back to Astana. This city is incredible! Such a mixture of incredibly modern buildings and crumbling sidewalks! We really enjoyed our time there though and would thoroughly recommend it to any adventurous traveller! ~ Mandy

That's exactly what we thought, @The World n Us 😁💯 That's the beauty of travel and KZread... discovering so many new places, and dispelling the preconceptions and stereotypes of places we've only heard of through main stream media. Kazakhstan is nothing like the Borat movies 😁🤣

It's been so long since I watched that film, I can't remember the scene now. 😌. We always try to catch a game wherever we go as I ( Lee) am a big football fan. It's so interesting to visit different stadiums, big and small all around the world. The Kazakhs were very passionate! 🇰🇿😁

We had such a great time in Nur-Sultan... or Astana as it was called when we were there.

Thank you. This was filmed in September 2018 so was pre Covid. Astana rarely sees foreign tourists at the best of times tho. It is an undiscovered gem!

I have to admit that I haven't made a Lviv video yet! We had such a wonderful time there but my video footage was so disappointing when I looked at it, that I went on to make my Plovdiv videos instead! I'm working on our Bulgaria travel costs video BUT will then go on to Lviv, as I'd promised! Now that I'm becoming more au fait with our new editing program, I know I can definitely put together a worthwhile vlog to showcase how beautiful Lviv is! Thank you, D.o.c, for your patience and the kick up the butt I needed!

Hello Dean! We're still in Portimaõ ,Portugal! We're making good use of our time in lockdown to finally catch up with all the footage we'd put on the backburner... I can't believe we didn't make any videos from Sibiu or Brasov in Romania! Lee's finally made videos of Yerevan and Astana (Nur-Sultan) and is working on Estonia vlogs at the moment. Portimaõ has gone back into lockdown so bars and restaurants have closed again. At least we're still staying in that amazing apartment so are very comfortable! We put posts on Instagram maybe once every week or so - we aren't massive fans of social media but that trends to show where we are right now and what we're up to. We hope this finds you well and happy. It was lovely to hear from you!

@@FrugalTravellers are you guys not allowed to leave portugal. Rumor here is that the green list will feature Portugal .so you can easily return with a negative test. I've not been on here (this channel )much because I've got 4 months free KZread premium on my other one so been using that I've still been watching your videos which I love. Great work as always. Yeah I've been to Brasov Romania myself. And of course lviiv videos , waiting for those.

@@deanomoses51 It's not that we can't leave Portugal... our best option was to stay here in a 1-bedroom apartment in this lovely resort and enjoy the pool and beach. As there aren't any tourists around, it's so much cheaper than normal. Hopefully things will improve in the next few months and travel will open up again. We were hoping to resume travelling overland but we'll have to take our first flights in over 2 years! We're weighing up whether to fly to Turkey or back to Romania to see my dentist and have my last two crowns fitted. From there we'd like to go back to the UK for summer and after that... who knows. That's such a great idea to be trialling KZread Plus, and it's so lovely that you still enjoy our channel! We're always happy to hear from you :)

@@FrugalTravellers yes it's my pleasure thanks. Also regarding travelling , I do hope you can commence after summer , England gets bleak ovwr winter so you don't want to be here for then . I saw other day , there is a cruise company which is like the Ryanair of the cruise industry but super cheap. . Costa cruises It's an Italian company but if you can get there you get 14 day cruises for under 600 through all parts of the world. Not sure if that would interest you. But you get food and drink included . I think it was reasonable but does that tally up with frugal?lol

@@deanomoses51 Under 50 a day for a cruise is very reasonable for what you get. I've heard of them and would definitely consider it when circumstances allow. I'd heard about Easy Cruises being cheap but rock bottom so you don't get everything included. Cruising is all about indulging really so Costa sounds a better option.
