Yeah... You want to hug her but you realise you're still riddled with borg hardware and she recently got traumatised by you advancing on her...

That explains why those Borg at Starbase 1 either ignored or hesitated with Captain Kim, they must've been conflicted with contradicting information at the sight of the King's counterpart.

@@highlordlaughterofcanada8685 Pretty good bet on the Aetherians. They sscream red flags and have a lot of similarities with something like the ORI. Kumarke however. No she isn't a sleeper agent. Poor thing cracked under pressure and suffering ptsd. The idea of being assimilated to her especially after the abduction for earlier likely made her just simply crack.

Ezri looked like she was channeling Joran for a moment there.

Wow, the final scene with Kumarki (spelling ??) is so well done and kind of gut wrenching to watch. Her character has been the fountain of optimism and determination throughout the story since her introduction and to see her so shaken and emotionally compromised was kinda hard to see. It's a reminder of just how new to the galactic community the Lukari really are! If this game had romance-able NPCs, she'd totally be my space wife! 🤣

But this is the Lukari after all… a species that has zero conception of the consequences of their actions.

Poor guy I have to say. They just went to stars. In the past two years, she has experienced an ancient super civilization that wants to exterminate everyone, a true hellish creature, a mysterious creature from the other end of the Milky Way that is unstoppable like a natural disaster. And now, a horror film like semi-mechanical civilization from another universe that will completely destroy one's personality and soul. Not long ago, she was just a scientist, but now she leading the few military forces in her race to participate in extremely exaggerated wars even for superpowers. If it were me, I would have gone crazy long ago, at least I would have resigned. But up to this point she perform well, too well. Until she saw what Mark(gamer) became. First contact, save their sun, always fight alongside her and even help reunion her race. They are very close friends. But when she saw Hale assimilated, became emotionless machine, trying to kill her. That’s the last straw.

Well at least Harry Kim gets promoted past Ensign in more than one universe.

You can see the exact moment her poor little heart exploded into a zillion pieces of trauma!

This was handled better than I expected, after the cliffhanger last episode I was expecting you to get rescued like right away

Your personal touches to the whole playthrough with point of view have definitely continued to make brilliant flavour, Bravo, as always.

The Borg UI reminds me of _Borg_ , which had John de Lancie. Narrative game that put you in a first-person perspective of a son of one of the officers who fought at Wolf 359. Q sends you back in the the body of your father, and resets you every time you get assimilated. It's also very well done.

@@Tyr666Thor Ok but it gets the point across, equal or not you're still just a drone, a tool to be used in the Kingdom's goals. I'm more curious as to why the Kingdom didn't slate the player to be something other than a basic drone. By this point you're a veteran of several conflicts and would posses a wealth of tactical knowledge for both ground and space warfare. Not many reasons why you wouldn't be given the same treatment as the other more independent command drones we've seen. My guess is that the Kingdom just didn't have time to do it before you were saved.

The King did also say that the PC, Team and allies would be made "very elite drones" if they lost so possibly the *kingdom* just didn't know the PC's history and acomplishments. its also possible that only willing subjects can be made Strategos like Tzen Tarak was.

I was looking forward to see Markutus of Borg and I was not disappointed

I thought that my PC gave up with this title. Freaked me out.

Absolutely stunning really sends the terror through what its like for your character being assimilated.

honestly the most amusing part of the assimilation for me was my ex-borg character name is Five of Five.

Oof! That was dark. On the bright side, Hale technically didn't commit any war crimes this episode.

First of all, amazing first part of this video. Well done keeping the narration in character so to speak. Secondly, I can't be the only one who finds the Borg King's last words very fascinating and ominous at the same time. I mean, he could have tried to beam out, self-destruct, beg for his life, scream insults, or anything villains normally do. Instead, he gives a very _earnest_ sounding appeal to his killers that we should NOT trust the Aetherians no matter what. It's honestly very frightening.

I still wonder if it's the Atherians that we need to be wary of or of other allies (such as the Tholians). The Tholians Assembly has been a continuous thorn in the side of both the Federation and Hale's story and aren't above attacking allies if it suits them

Dude the devs really went "what if we give them the option to resist but the second time they try to do it, it doesn't work" to really drive home that that's how the Borgs work

Another thing to note is with that vinculum on your back (that you don't get to keep,) You can't sabotage yourself. It'll just keep reviving you and your team.

Okay, I can't be the only one who thinks the Borg King was Mirror Keten, can I? And Mirror Kim becoming a Kobali would certainly add to his vindictiveness. And Kuumarke's breakdown is understandable. This is her first time facing the Borg in any significant form, and she's been nearly assimilated by them twice, the second time while wearing the face of one of her closest allies.

Hmmmm I wonder what dangerous knowledge the Kingdom had collected from assimilating the STO protag...

I love that they went there with this mission. I've always wanted another Star Trek game where you can play as a Borg for an extended time. Star Trek: Borg was about as close as we got, but something like this really puts into perspective how much of a cog in a machine each drone is once assimilated.

Ezri's stunt there is one that I'm not sure about with it. And Kumarke's been on the trauma conga over this chapter

The firsgt part of being a dron and doing drone stuff was peak gamplay, the last part of Kumarke having to shoot Kim the ing is peak drama, STO giving us the best even after all this years, Also thank you for sharing this narrative. also Captain! the asimilation seams to had leave a vibrato on my voice... can I keep it?

Poor kumarkee, shes definitely gonna need therapy after this one

I enjoyed the borg play part primarily because the interface we see while being borg reflects the game Star Trek: Borg which was an interactive movie. In that you can be assimilated multiple times & it involves John De Lancie playing Q. So for me to a degree it was a bit of a nostalgia hit.

We are the Borg. Existence as you know it is over. Resistance will be annihilated.

the immersive/cinematic presentation of the current chapter, including voice modulation & video title here, are excellent. (reminds me of the (beautiful) presentation (titles) of the 'Mirror' episodes of Enterprise). well done, & thank you. ...

Whats great about this episode in relation to my toon is that one of my away team is Lukari So cannonically the first Lukari drone atleast for my STO timeline Is from my ship

Just as a passing thought, from what little I remember of my high school Latin classes..'Vinculae' might be the plural? Or possibly 'Vincluii'

I seriously think that these new allies these Etherians are they? that they are the main invading enemy and Starfleet and the Alliance are being blindsided, and that King Kim was warning the away team that they were the true threat - they remind me of the Iconians for some reason. And I also think that Kuumaarke may also be hiding a few secrets yet to be unravelled

So, Xbox player here, we only have the first mission so far "mirror Borg attacking SB1" so this is more a guide for my fleet...but yeah...kumarke just...she's never killed anything...till now. That kind of trauma is not something that you can just wave away. Credit to the writing team/her VA.

I was so god damn excited when I reached this part! This is, as far as I know.. The only time since Star Trek: Borg from 1996, that you've been able to play as a drone! I've always wanted something like this but I know it's almost impossible to pull off properly. Though I could.. Maybe see STO adding a Borg Cooperative player faction at some point. I would love that and they would basically just keep this overlay but make it blue 😅

my main toon has a bug in this part of the mission. After you get converted into Mirror Borg, instead of keeping whatever uniform he's wearing beforehand, it changes out to an bared open hawaiian shirt, beach pants and bare feet. I don't have the heart to fix it. 🤣

I binge watched the entire series. and I loved it ! I have been through the missions all before. but having the narration and the humor with it made them even more fun. ( I especially liked the "OH, OKAY THEY'RE SHOOTING!" And "Well, sh@t." type situations) The only time i stopped was, to play through Taken by surprise and scorpion's abyss. (I also have misgivings about our new allies.)😟

I said it once and I'll say it again no one is having a good time in this episode and do I blame them no. If I had to run around in a borg cube and then end up being assimilated by mirror borg. I'd probably be a little irritable by the end of this mission too.

Downside of this compared to the Borg game..you don't get to punch Q in the nuts. :-) (That bit, the wrong floor elevator bit, and the failure if you use the wrong hypospray setting (a plot point, so I won't spoil more than that) are my favorite scenes.)

As I said before imagine being a class-of-2409 Captain who dodged this particular bullet on his first training cruise, only for it to circle back two-and-a-half years later.

Soo borg Kim knows that the mirror universe kumaky is extreamly agressive against the borg, and we likelly just witnessed a life changing ptsd on regular kumaky to the point where she might be blindly zelous against the borg from now on and splinter off as a faction that either kills borgs or hides somewhere and kills anyone who might lead a borg to them. Or trade valuble secrets with the borg for a promise of not being assimilated.

WHen I did this its interesting that STO went this far I guess we get to see what Picard went through it is pretty cool this happens makes it realistic and get to feel what picard went through still like to know how the kingdom was so quiet to sneak up. Its interesting that this one with you is antiproton damage usually borg weapons are plasma interesting

So bit of fore shadowing that the triangle guys are actually another universes version of the borg I’m guessing

been waiting all week for this.

I just thought of something. It must smell really bad inside a Borg ship. No showers, no toilets..

It's the 25th century, and somehow standard security detail equipment doesn't include a cardio-pulmonary monitor that raises an alarm when the person has a fright or is knocked out.

The Aetherians seem to have close traits with the borg. The Harmony shares simplistic geometric shapes like Borg vessels. Thaseen-Fei has a halo crown behind her head just like the mirror Borg king Harry Kim. "Through Harmony, we are secure, through unity we are stronger."

So this means that the Borg Kingdom now knows all of our plans to combat them, plus that fact that Admiral Hale is a Temporal Agent. Wonder how/if this will come into play later. EDIT: The plural of vinculum is vincula.

Hmm... It's very interesting that Dax had the hypos ready that could counter assimilation keyed directly to the Alpha Team, almost as if it was entirely part of the plan for Alpha Team to be assimilated.

Your presentation and personal touch with the title of this episode were amazing. I'd love to see how you would work with FNaF or Poppy Playtime as these two games have some great storytelling.

what got me here was my main charcter is liberated romulan fed borg. whos original borg designation was One of Five. all my bridge officers are liberated borgs. unique borge officer female - Two of Five, liberated borg male - Three of Five, Liberated Borg reman male Four of Five, and Liberated Borg Romulan Female Five of Five. So basically I was hoping unique liberated borg dialogue here. also found it funny that they removed prime implant and swapped my good eye from one side to the other so they can have the kingdom implants. i also noticed that prime borg are green with red lights more often than not. kingdom are red with green eye lazor lights.

Now this is exhilarating 😂

You cut out the portion where we return to DS9 and see Bashir to get our Borg modifications removed. Planning on keeping them, are you? :P

He will work on that next Tuesday this episode takes forever to complete. Took me about 45 minutes to an hour to finish this when I played the mission for the first time.

Kumarke. or however it's pronounced seemed to be a bit to... to emotional I guess? Then again, I do enjoy that her cheerful "Oh look at all these beautiful wonders" finally got the kick in the nuts it deserved. Still. The level of PTSD for what essentially seems to be nothing is a bit over the top.

Hm, that first part playing as the drone is actually pretty cool. I don't really get why Kumarke would be so traumatised, i mean, it's Harry and Hale and Beta Team who just got the full dose of Nightmare fuel. Shame you don't actually get to control any borg ships (unless i'm wrong)

Seems like Kumarke doesn't quite have as much resistance against this trauma as she thought she had. Resistance to this kind of trauma..as one might say, is futile. Also holy shit, this makes me want more references to Elite Force.
