Assetto Corsa has a secret touge road, and it’s probably the most underrated in the game.
Most of you have probably have it downloaded, but only a fraction have driven it.
It's a tight, narrow road, that snakes it’s way up a gargantuan mountain . It features towns, Hairpins, camber, forests and elevation changes, the lot.. So, why does nobody talk about it?
Steeped in rich history, it's host to one of the longest ongoing motoring events in the world. Founded in 1925, it has bared witness to the vast evolution of hillclimb as a sport, and the exponentially increasing capabilities of the monstors that drive it.
Clocking in at almost 11 miles long, this hillclimb has been described as "absurdly dramatic", and It's easy to see why.
Have you driven this road before? If not, don't worry, most people haven't. But I can almost guarantee you've seen the name "Trento Bondone" in your Assetto Corsa modlist at some point. Perhaps you even remarked that you dont remember downloading it, like me, before making this video. Well there's a good reason for that.
Kunos actually put this into the game themselves, all the way back in 2014. You can forgive yourself for not knowing, because unmodded Assetto Corsa is just a circuit racing sim right? Well, it was clearly intended to be a hillclimb simulator too… or was it?
By today's standards, 9 years on, its pretty ugly - and looks like something an amateur modder would create. And that’s because it essentially is a mod that kunos themselves made. There are no high quality textures or furniture that we’re used to seeing on their circuits. And in fact, it looks worse than every single modern hillclimb, made by singular modders, for free.. With sparse details, and a lack of care and attention to the small details, it’s a far cry from the circuits and touges we drive that feel like the real location. As a whole, Trento Bondone feels wholly unfinished, sure it’s still driveable, but it doesn’t strike me as a track that would ship with the game, more like an amateur third party addon. And From an Italian developer that has a keen attention to detail, you might be asking yourself, why this is the case.
NETKAR PRO. If you’re an avid Kunos enjoyer, you’ll this name. Released in 2006, this sim was predecessor to Assetto. It’s clear that it was a test bed. It has a barebones, and quite frankly poor UI, even for Kunos, and yes, it’s even worse than the Assetto Corsa’s default menus somehow. The physics weren’t bad for the time, and you can definitely see how Assetto’s an evolution, not just a Lancer. But, by today’s standards they feel almost arcade like. The car seemingly drives on rails, until it decides you need to start oversteering, in a similar way that iracing does. Which is interesting, as they were released around the same time. Yet strangely, NetKar feels dated, but iRacing is revered as one of the most realistic simulations on the market. Strange. Anyway, we’re getting sidetracked.
Despite all of this, the forcefeedback is surprisingly detailed too for such an old game. In fact, I get better tyre feel out of nKpro than Assetto.
All in all, it isn’t bad a bad simulator, even by todays standards. I mean, hell, people are still playing Grand Prix Legends which was released in 1998. It’s a surprise NetKar wasn’t more popular at the time. However, it did only ship with a handful of cars and tracks, and the modding scene didn’t add much more.
So perhaps NetKar wasn’t the best simulator. But what it was, was a perfect lesson for Kunos. They needed more content in their games, whether that be through their own creation, or their community. And they definitely heeded their own advice. Assetto Corsa shipped with more than enough content. With a wealth of original, laser scanned circuits. A heap of high quality cars. The ability for modding, which revolutionised the game was played. And of course, a single hillclimb. Trento Bondone.
But, truth be told, Assetto Corsa’s Trento was neither high quality, nor was

How do people not know this map? This is one of my regular maps. Very fun to drive.

It's pc only :(
I've been driving on this Italian road ever since I got Assetto back in 2017. Still one of my favourites.

I spent my first 10 hours of AC driving a stock AE86 at Trento Bondone with mouse steering. So difficult to learn but it's very fun nonetheless. Definitely one of my favorite tracks of all time.🔥👍

@@SirSR20 not to mention its kinda just my chillout and drift game...i dont care about driving a real wheel...controller easier to rest
I never knew anyone else drove this track, it has the most hours out of any. For a sheer driving experience it is really good honestly, the graphics aren’t good but the feel is great.
A nicely done track skin would do this one wonders. Especially if it implemented the 3D trees from Shaders Patch.
definitely one of my favorite maps, pretty challenging to get a clean run, but its a lot of fun

i got a 4:50 here on the kunos stock rx-7 fd
Damn I am so lucky to live like 25km away from that road in real life, truly a fun road to tackle. To this day I managed to make it to the top a couple of times with my mom's renault twingo but It would be a lot more fun with a proper sports car, maybe in the future if I'll have the chance to buy one... Until then, I have to stick with the sim version. Thanks for covering this track it surely needs the attention of more people, maybe one day someone will make a remastered version to fix the issues you talked about in the video.
finally i see this covered somewhere, such an underrated track with amazing bends and great flow, great video mr. bloke
"it's hairpins connected by straights similar to akina" irohazaka : allow me to introduce myself
One of my favorite map ! It’s not the most beautiful but when you are driving you don’t really see the details on the side of the road, the only downside for me is the few invisible walls on some corner when you want to cut them, Nice vid ! Keep it up man !
Super attractive cuts and edits especially in the intro section! liked it a lot.

Thanks!
Thx for introducing me to this track. I had no idea it existed! Im using drift cars for it and am yet to try it out!
This is an old track i used to drive in before i discovered csp and lots of shiny mods. Probably one of the reason this is forgotten about, is because of the mass being more interested towards tracks like SRP and japanese touges with JDM cars, or even real life circuits with race cars. This is a fun track to do hillclimb runs, that's for sure.
Loved the video! What editing software do you use?
Your editing is absolutely insane every time. So damn watchable! BRB going to drive Trento Bondone 😂
Its a great course. I had a couple records at this course in the 911s. Trento needs a serious texture update although even without that its one of the best courses in AC
your videos is amazing bro
My very first experience with this track was Ferrari 512 at night, very few time with CSP and SOL at the time... Wanted a road driving experience, and I suffered all the way to the top hahaha
Can I just say, your editing is god tier, Every video you make looks amazing
Totally not me logging ludicrous amounts of hours into vanilla assetto corsa with a gamepad. NA Miata plus this track is a dream
😂😂😂 I’m laughing because I was looking for a hill climb track last week, and I had this the whole time.
The moss hairpin at 1:20 god I love that track you should talk about it
Those retro shots are 🔥🔥🔥
I actually played this more than some tracks, it is awesome... and challenging
Very surprised what you said about Netkar Pro's physics, at least with regards to oversteer. Not sure about NKP's hillclimb prototype-style car but vehicle behaviour/action/reaction during oversteer with open-wheel NKP cars like the F2000 and F3 are, along with Live For Speed's, by far the most realistic, controllable, and natural in the industry. AC's oversteer is great when it comes to road cars and drift cars but it's in the middle of the pack when it comes to racecars (with iRacing and rFactor-engined-based games being the worst).
anyone who plays AC its definitely not for they beauty or his all well finished game feel like. I think we all play it because its a great system, particularly on the well done laser scan tracks, properly done physics of cars, edjustament of the setup on a high detail, wheel and rubber grip, wear etc,.. like thats way more important to me than realistic looking games such as GT7 or F1 22 it would be nice to feel that if you have a real car on similar setup and conditions it helps you to cover the basics weather you drift, u do an U turn, go on a free track day and have some idea on how to take the curves. its great fun and you can also have a lot of assistance in game options altho the arcade feeling its definetly not there, there is no car collection, no license collection, no career etc
loved netkar pro, used to play it a lot back in the days. Grew up with GTR2 and then netkar pro up until i could get a pc that ran assetto
This is the first map I drove on, and I was so ecstatic at the diverse turns and on the nose reaction times needed to maintain control. I love hot wheels acceleracers and highway 35 so I desired a hefty road to test my driving skills before I drive irl. Later today I'll drive on this road haha.
finally someone covered this beautiful road
Man these edits are insane
loving the increase in video quality every bloody time idk how you do it
In 2022 the Italian Drifting Championship oneorganized a special drift event there (a real one, not on the sim)
This is my favorite track in the entire game. I didn't even know that it was underrated
Before knowing how to download mods for the game , this was my go to track
The goat is finally back
When I first bought assetto I loved trento bondo! I had no idea haha. I would play all the downhill togue maps i could find.
I used to drive this track all the time when first playing assetto, what a nostalgic track...
Apart from Nordschleife, Trento-Bondone is one of the very few "vanilla" tracks in AC I ever driven on regularly.
trento was the second map I played while starting to learn how to use and mod ac last year
I love Trento, i always use it as a warmup before i do something else.
It was where i first drove in assetto corsa, i learned much with it. And then i started going to the circuits and they felt a bit blend sometimes, so now im trying to see other hillclimb maps. Problem is i play with mouse steering and im not the biggest fan of it but welp it is what it is
My second favorite track after Nordschleife. If you have mods that lets you drive at night, this map becomes even better. Lets you forget about the lack of details while the mods add new light sources to the track which brings it to life. I've driven 2340 km in this 18 km track. Great fun.

Would be my first favorite if it was also laser-scanned.
as soon as i saw the firs hairpin i knew it was trento bondone, this is my testing ground to setup my cars for touge
Dude this has been my favorite track since I got assetto :]]
i was scrolling through maps in hopes i can find a twisty one... i found this and its like my go-to pretty much every time (though not easy with controller)
I've been playing it since i started playing assetto corsa and i love it.
When I saw this course a long time ago, I noticed it was a hillclimb and my natural conclusion was that I downloaded Pikes Peak and forgot about it. didn't realize till now it was a separate but real road
The Porsche 962C plus Trento is actually one of my favorite in all on sim racing
this was the first map i played when i played on pc
This track is my favorite from AC So underrated
THE TRANSITIONS WENT HARD!!!!!!!!!!
in Netkar Pro i drove almost only this track and almost only in Abarth 500
This the first map I used to test the first car mod i installed :) (it was a 2020 Supra)
If it had a downhill version I would drive it way more, getting up takes 15 minutes in a slow car lol
I love this track! took DMO's lambo up it!
My go to track!
I drive classic cars here usually, but I have swapped it for Targa Florio recently, but it's still a ton of fun
What is that windows 95 startup sound remix tho
LOL, I remember buying netKar Pro just for the beta access to Assetto Corsa. I wonder if that license still works today.
I started rallying on that road, shits fun asf
Trento is actually one of my favorite maps in ac
i saw it in the maps and thought it was a touge i downloaded but i will try it out
The second fav orignal map of mine. The first one is def Nurburging n
Love sliding some BMWs up this road. I always use it to warm up!
The big lacks of details is really good for me because I can't play on this map with my potato pc in a decent amount of fps so Im happy that it doesn't have good details
Bro i live in Trento and that road is fantastic with the motorcyles too (sorry for the english i'm italian)
is the hill climb map available in ps4 assetto? or are there any hillclimb in assetto?
Since it's the only hillclimb in unmodded AC, I really thought it was a mod lol. I usually download a bunch of mods at the time, not one by one so I thought it was "Some touge from an Initial D episode that I forgot"
Lmao I used to race on that map with the tuned ae86 when I didn't have mods
Fun to play touge..it's been there since I brought the game lol
Funny how I drive almost every day with that Hyundai i20 on Trento Bondone 0:45.
my fav vanilla map!!
I did a bunch of trento bondone in the Ferrari 312, it's incredibly fun and auxhillirating
i thought everyone started on this and then discovered mods and switched up like crazy
I like it for slower cars either way pretty cool map kinda annoying how tight it is
Pretty much the only track I drive ac AC (beautiful in VR) ❤
i used to play it for 45 minutes and be so beat and couldn't feel my arms
Trento Bondone is the only touge I am halfway decent at
The best thing you can do is get the snow version of trento-bondone and drift all the way to the top
Subscribed because of the wall reminder.
It was the first track I drove when I got ac
Man pulled out all the stops with the editing and transitions today, I can't complain though
immaculate choice of music, mind sharing your playlist with me? I recognize some of the songs but cant come up with the titles.. :p

this was the first map that I played on AC though
This is the best track in the game, it makes me want push to the limit!! From stock to full crazy hp cars this has got the be the goat! On the 300 houres that i spent on assetto corsa, 200 are on this map! Only problem that has 4 slot in multiplayer! 😢
Lol this is also the most popular practice on my asseto corsa as well its so good.
What is the name of the hill climb car you were using at the end? Not the WRC one. Is it on Race Department?

I drove this road and it was hell 😭
Does anyone know the track used at @4:50? Thanks
I drove this it was so much fun i used a civic reborn type r
What’s the track u showed @1:46
Now wish I had a semi-ok PC. Have a Series X, but it’s locked bc console :(. Wish that Assetto had console mod support like Snow Runners.
I love this track. Found it fairly early when I started playing AC. For me it is timed. Don't know what is the reason that you can time it.

I drove this hill climb in a ford F450 AC mod

its a very fun map
Can i play it on console or not?
