So, would i need a big space to assemble it on the floor first? Can it be assembled in its final place instead? Could i start with the floor panel and work up?

I just assembled mine (this was the best video I found for instructions) and there's a couple things I would say 1. If you tried to assemble it upright, you need to screw the bottom screws in first 2. It would need to lean against the wall so it doesn't just fall 3. The issue is you're supposed to put the side on last so how would you screw the bottom screws on unless you tilted the whole thing to get to it? 4. IT. IS. HEAVY! I just had to lift it by myself.. took a few tries to get it upright. I used my couch to lean *against* it as I lifted it up so it didn't slide. All in all - great video, not sure if it's the best idea to put it together upright, and it's probably best to have someone help you at the end. (I've got a bruise to prove it lol).

@susanebel7288 That's really useful information for anyone assembling this beauty! I love my 4x4 kallax unit. I did get it assembled in a room that was only slightly bigger than the unit itself and I did it by myself. Only thing to add is to be careful not to scratch it when opening. No box cutter slashing!
