Excellent tutorial. Very simple to follow. I just bought this unit last week and I was not looking forward to putting it together, but watching this video I think it’s going to go quite smoothly. I appreciate this tutorial.

Is anyone else having trouble on the first step? i can't even put the screws in without there being a huge gap no matter how hard i push the two sides together.

Yup, I just hired someone to do it cause I can't be bothered lol. Edit: They never showed up, but I figured it out after a while. Just use a drill, makes it alot easier.

I’ve built and rebuilt the 5x5 version of this shelf many times. What I find is that you have to keep turning the screw, then you overcome the separation and the panels will come together. If you have a really stubborn one, you can screw the screw into just the side panel first, this cuts some threads making a groove for the screw to slot into. You take the screw back out and then assemble the panel as in the first step.

What is the metal bracket called? Does ikea sell it?

Have a problem. Can't lay the unit down as there is not enough floor space and cannot move from another room as passageways are too narrow. Might have to assemble on the side.

I'll be using brown wall plugs and then see what screws fit the plugs

Better to use a mallet instead of a hammer if you have one available.

How about using some sort of glue along with the other hardware.

Don’t do it - if you ever need to disassemble it you’re screwed and it doesn’t need it - it’s very sturdy and stable

how heavy was it to carry that entire thing?

I carried it myself and I'm not that strong. Not sure how much it weighs though

You might have to start from the bottom up, I think it would be doable. Let us know how it went.

It was impossible to hit the shelves in by hand they wouldn’t go I had to use a hammer with a cloth to cover the edge and still damaged the shelves and now it’s in the trash .. never again

You don't show how to screw the bottom screws in , only the top ones ...
