Oh for goodness sake, get a grip. My most recent role has been as a complex car assistant (bank contract, low paid, unenjoyable) and I've been punched and scratched by service users in the home countless times! Where was the support for me? Nowhere? Who cares for me? Noone! Each GP that I have turned to has viciously dismissed, mocked and neglected me. I am in my late 20s and I have been suffering increasingly since early teens! I have a widespread chronic skin disease, a widespread chronic pain disease, and chronic fatigue. I am suffering mentally and physically, as well as financially, socially, and personally. I am a chronically ill, long suffering, extremely uncomfortable individual, under a lot of pressure, without any support! What more can I try?

Suggested I kept the same routine going on night shift as on days, IE: Come home and stay up until 10-11 am then go to bed, get up have a meal then go straight to work. After a month my depression went away without having to take medication. Which in a way was a shame as Doc Bramble always had a joke to tell.

I’d love to spend time with the 92 year old man. I’m sure there are many tales he could tell if his life. What a gentleman he was. I wish men were more like him now. I really don’t understand how a paramedic who knows how dangerous smoking is, still smokes. Especially when he has children the last thing you want is your children then starting smoking

I think she’s most likely a first year medical student (guessing by the doctor explaining what Edema is) so she could be 18 and new to it. I had people like this on my nurse training, they are now wonderful qualified nurses I think sometimes just takes time to adapt to a professional role. X

I’m just wondering why people attack someone who’s trying to help them. I understand if it’s because of drugs or alcohol and they’re probably confused for what’s going on

  • @Vieweracc99

Some patients who are epileptic can be combative after a fit. It's not their anger but part of the condition. Also, older people with dementia can often be very aggressive - again, not because of anything else but mental confusion. Drugs and alcohol can make people combative, and all of this is sometimes hard for paramedic teams to control.
