Incompetence at its height, the CEO thinks security took 2 minutes to react, whilst the control room says 24 minutes. They are holding HEU(which is enough for 12 nuclear bombs) and they don't seem concerned that 'burglars' were able to breach the highly sophisticated electric fence, stroll past the CCTV camera's and into the control room, which in itself should have been fortified !!! Imagine how easy it would be for special forces.

Do you ? The average SA criminals indeed don't neutralize several layers of security equipment that clearly needed inside knowledge. Why loot this, if their are plenty of supermarkets to loot. Much more "fun".

Whenever a regime is VERY embarassed, they have to stick to the most improbable semi-truths or clear lies. No, the groups or not related. Yes it took the security service "a couple" of minutes to get there etc etc. Adding frivolity to the embarassement...

the main issue is that only about 22,000 people have seen this video. This happened back in 2008, yet I heard about this is the first time. Why isn't there more public outcry for removing and securing this uranium? God forbid they were successful, imagine what terrorist groups could do with nuclear weapons on cities like London, Paris, and Manchester. This keeps me up at night, 22,000 people have laid eyes on this, but a nuclear bomb would decimate cities killing over 10x the amount of views this video got.

11:20 they didn't even question him for 10 months after he was shot?! But I guarantee if he had been shot on the street and some random crime that they wouldn't let him leave the ER without talking to him..... well at least that's how it's done here in America and I'm guessing they're police force can't be too much different except for what I'm assuming would be a large amount of corruption and racism🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️😂🤣😭

Not racism, but big time POLITICS. Don't always bring the race card into everything.Certainly a case of a cover-up and inside helpers.Makes me cringe seeing my countrymen with their STUPID inane excuses....just so awfully childish and unprofessional, but then that is what this country's hierarchy has become.

My guess: former BOSS people or at least, folks with pro Apartheid sympathies, or South African criminals with access to the black market, who were sure to get a hugh sum of money with which they also could reward those that gave them inside knowledge. As an investigator, I would start with the man in the wheelchair: was he drunk because he had a drinking problem, or because he didn't want to be there after all, when the two teams got inside. Remember that US soldier that absolutely wanted to make sure he was in jail when the murder of JFK took place. He entered a bank and deliberately shot in the ceiling, and then just waited to be arrested, fearing otherwise he might end up as Oswald, yet another patsy. Maybe the man in the wheelchair got cold feet, and drunk so much he just couldn't go to work, read, open all security systems once the two teams were inside the complex. It's just a working hypothesis, no real facts, just a strange coïncidence. It might also be though that the man is completely innocent. But it definetely is a starting point.

How did this suddenly get so popular? It happened more than 13 YEARS ago. And more to the point, this is ONE organisation's digging that yielded almost nothing and certainly doesn't take into account local conditions - almost as if there were mercenaries involved. I'd like to know HOW they know, or where the evidence is that supports the line "enough material to build 12 bombs"? Furthermore, as far as I know Pelindaba was born as a research site for enriching Uranium as a fuel source primarily and later as a weapon. Nonetheless this is all moot if the event and video are >10 years old. The ambassador has a point; the CEO has a point too; if the guards were fired - so what? If they don't know who did the deed all is moot. Sure means that security should be improved.

    1) It is certain that there is a quantity of HEU, nobody denies that. If someone knows exactly how much, that would be the IAEA 2) For general purposes, it doesn't make an important difference if there is enough for 5, for 12 or even 25 bombs, as some other sources claim. The important thing is potentially nasty stuff was lying there. The trouble these "gentlemen" took to get inside of that complex suggests they weren't there for laptops or smartphones. They either were there for HEU (where was their vehicle ?) or for data stored on computers (why not hack them from outside, as for ex. the Russians or Israeli's could do). 3) Two possible scenario's: HEU or data meant for the black market or for domestic purposes, read, regime change. 4) What's so surprising about older events getting warmed up again. It happens all the time in the press. Not many Parisians know about what happened in the early 1960's when North Africans were protesting in the streets of Paris, and many of them ended up in the Seine river. Now these old stories are "hot" again. It just happens for a variety of reasons, and it's a good thing it happens. This is something of considerable importance, it probably got smothered by a very embarassed SA government. Not only is it corrupt, but it also is incompetent. Not exactly good PR.
