The Officio Assassinorum safeguards the future of humanity. Its agents are the secret saviours of the Imperium, killers charged with achieving the impossible... and Vindicare assassin Absolom Raithe has just been handed the most difficult assignment of his career.
The Knight World of Dominion is on the verge of seceding from the Imperium, its court riven by factionalism and ruled by an increasingly unhinged monarch. With the aid of the shapeshifting Callidus assassin Sycorax, Raithe must remove the king from his throne - and safely steer a pro-Imperial candidate to victory through the brutal succession crisis that will inevitably ensue. His team will need to infiltrate a world steeped in chivalric codes, where every move risks discovery, and every threat pilots an adamantine monster... for if the assassins fail, and Dominion falls, the entire sector will be plunged into darkness.

One of my favorite things about the book has to be the amount of effort that Robert Rath has clearly put into an organic appearance of Green Knight at the climax of his knights story, and the corresponding amount of restraint that he has shown by never letting the words "green" and "knight" appear next to each other all throughout it, despite a very literal green knight being a rather important part of the whole thing.

It was barely half a chapter, but the battle of the blazing heaven, and sycorax's reaction with rakan afterwards genuinely made me emotional. I loved that the code of honor isn't just a gimmick, it's genuinely depicts a strive to do good by your fellow man.

There’s one bit about the book that I find really neat that not only book-ends the story but also leaves an interesting thread for a sequel SPOILERS In the beginning we learn that the temples have Astropaths with special implants to encrypt and pass on messages to the departmento assasinorum. Super secret high security shit. Towards the end of the book we find out that the astropath with such an implant was being dissected in the catacombs with their implant missing. And in the epilogue we discover that not only is it still active, but it’s also transmitting messages, and breaching other encrypted signals. Really hope this book gets a follow up to continue on that point

I listen to this podcast on the standard podcast app that comes with your phone and it says the podcast hasn’t been updated since March. Anyone know why that is?

I'm sad y'all skipped entirely over the spy that kicked this whole show off at the start of the book. Raised to be some communications menial, she went out like a fucking champion to kick all these events off.

I've tried to get through Storm of Iron. Honsou is so obnoxious in it. EVERY Iron Warrior is obnoxiously bitter. I know it's kinda their thing, but it doesn't make for a good listen. The grimderp is STRONG in that book.
