Definitely interesting....but I'm confused about these detectives decision making? They were investigating a poison homicide why would they take any chances with unsealed food...I would only drink or eat something that I know I unsealed myself and their over there ordering TEA? Very Dumb...

Genuinely asking to learn. Why hasn’t Britain ensured justice from Russia for action of its citizens? If they refuse to allow extradition of the culprits, what is the next step to continue ensure justice? Did Britain take a stand and refuse entrance of citizens of Russia until Russia sent the culprits to Britain for investigation and trial? I’m not quite understanding how Britain allow one of its citizens to be unalived and all of this is unresolved. Is it because Britain is afraid of conflict with Russia? Reilly don’t understand and would like some guidance to learn. Sad story.

Wait. The guy stood 3 weeks on bed at the hospital, the wife kissed him on the lips when he passed away, the police were with him interviewing him for a whole day, and nobody got sick from his highly radioactive body that had to be buried in a casket but didn't hurt anyone who were un protected for 3 weeks?

The radiation would have had to have been introduced. Into their bodies the same way as it was to the victim. While his body was radioactive he couldn’t. Contaminate others through contact with them. The only reason they put his body into a lead coffin. Was to prevent his decomposing remains from entering into the water table. If his radioactive remains contaminated the water supply. & people were to drink that water then they too could become sick. In this case direct physical contact with his remains wouldn't harm anyone. But drinking water that had radioactive corpse juices in it could.

What is not mentioned in this video says quite a lot. What were the Russians motives for killing him? He had defected 6 years previously, why wait so long? What else was in the 9 hours of Litvenenko's statements? Was he an active agent for MI5? Like I said, a lot isn't talked about...

His book "Bombing Russia" predicting it was the pretext to reinvade Chechnya was one reason, but a trigger was him testifying on Russian mafia in a Spanish trial. Men who were linked to Putin in the 90's. MI5 is counter intelligence, like part of the FBI not foreign intelligence.

@@stephenhartley77 I suspect they cut stuff to appeal to viewers, once you start on Beresovsky, his book and Russian mafia witness you probably have to cut the family clips and then "human interest" viewers wouldn't watch. Secondly those motives are subjective opinion, Vladolf Putin's desire for vengeance could be the main one, with him telling Lugachenko about the Spanish trial triggering action. There are different types of spies, he was a whistle blower on the power battles in the Kremlin, it was assumed as he wasn't killed in Russia that he was safe abroad. Vladolf action surprised, the USSR had been cautious

Febi, Look up "radiation poisoning". It's not as simple as filtering the radioactive element out of the urine; the human body sorts out the molecules we eat or drink, and distributes them in some cases everywhere in the body. Once the molecules are in bone, muscles, or organs --- they emit the electrons that cause massive damage to the blood cells, bones, GI system --- anyplace where cells are replicating frequently. Even if a person was in hospital when he drank or ate contaminated food and received treatment IMMEDIATELY, it would be extremely difficult to retrieve the toxic element. Remember, Alexander was given a massive dose. .....and then the killer poured the 'leftovers' down the drain, contaminating all the pipes where it flowed out....eventually into a sewer, and into the ecosystem. A crime on many, many levels without regard for any life forms. The ER and Critical Care staff were exposed, too. They will require regular, periodic, monitoring for the rest of their lives for tumors and blood abnormalities. The use of such a toxic poison demonstrates complete disregard for anyone. Truly evil.

His organs were literally turned into soup by the radiation poisoning. He was beyond help the moment he walked into the hospital & he knew it. All he could do was tell the police what he knew & hope they could catch his killers. The medical team that treated him were not exposed to a lethal dose by physicalccontact with him. The only way that they could have been contaminated was if they drank his blood or urine.
