The Family That Was Murdered for £5 Million | Real Crime

Фильм және анимация

Make sure you subscribe to get your regular crime fix: / realcrime
Mr. Chohan had a successful business worth £5m. Kenneth Regan was known as Captain Cash from his drug-dealing days, and along with his two henchmen, they hatched a plot to take over the Chohan’s business and use it to front their drug smuggling ring. Mr. Chohan, his young wife, her mother, and the couple’s two baby sons were lured into a trap and brutally murdered, covered up as an innocent but tragic sudden disappearance. The plot was only foiled by a family murder in New Zealand, refusing to believe that they would all vanish, as a result of tax avoidance or a business agreement gone sour. The bodies of the three adults washed up along the coasts of the UK, but the two babies were never found. This documentary, made for Channel 4 strand ‘Dispatches’ explores the heinous crimes and the investigation.

+Kyoji Kasshu We'll never know the entire truth, but I do believe she knew much more about what was going on. I noticed she made a point of covering for herself by saying she wasn't at home both times that the digging was going on, thereby distancing herself both figuratively and literally. She also made a point to overemphasize (I believe), that she had no intimate relationship with Regan. She's obviously not a stupid woman, but that's almost what one would have to believe if they think she didn't know more than she was telling. She knew an entire family was missing, and that Regan had come to control their company under very suspicious circumstances, but she never thought anything was strange? It's pure speculation, but I believe she was probably offered a huge payday down the road. Perhaps after Regan got his new drug smuggling operation up-and-running. Either that, or maybe she just knew that as long as she was with Regan she'd be into money. If he got busted she'd just play the role of another one of his victims.

It really depends on the crime. If we're talking tax evasion or petty theft I have no problem giving a second chance. But murderers, rapists, pedophiles etc are beyond saving in my view. If you go out of your way to help them they will likely just repeat their crimes. They have crossed a line from which there is no return and so are not deserving of a second chance.

Can you do a story on Nancy Huter (pronounced Hyooter)? She disappeared from a Malibu park in 1991 and her remains were found a year and a half later on the grounds of a Naval base after fires had swept through the area. She is from Thousand Oaks, California. She was a friend of my family and she used to babysit me when I was a child. There is very little reporting done on this case and next to no evidence. Her father passed away recently without seeing justice done. I'd appreciate it if you can shed some light and give some publicity to this case. It would mean a lot to both our families.
