    Word of advice. When grinding near cars make sure to remove the dust from the car asap as it rusts quickly and damages the paint job🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

    I came here to say much the same thing except that I would go a bit further and say always cover paint and especially the glass of any vehicles ion the area because the hot sparks will melt into the paint and glass. Can pretty much ruin your car’s windows.

    Just a quick tip, cleanliness is godliness in welding. Metal comes with a coating that should be ground off before welding. This should help with making welds look more professional. Always grind both welding surfaces clean before welding. 👍🏻

    You dont need to grind it you can use a wirebrush and remove the "coating" Please dont minde any spelling mistakes

    Elevate the water tank, have a 4" boom. Fill fire truck in seconds. Like the old steam trains used to refill.

    Rainwater from a roof is going to have bird poop on it, so you'd probably only want to make it a grey water tank for plant watering or something.

    Just a quick tip Matt, never run your finger over a hydraulic leak, even if the machine isn’t running, the residual pressure can cause an oil injection into your finger and is not good. Major surgery to clean out the oil from inside and worse case is amputation. 👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺

    Those sparks on glass will pit the hell out of the windows. If its bad enough, you will get rust spots in the glass too. A welding blanket is cheaper than ever replacing a rear view mirror.

    Just for future reference, you may want to throw something down over paint/glass when you're grinding like that. Something like a welding blanket or something. Those sparks will 100% embed themselves in your paint and glass. Obviously it's your truck, so if you don't care then grind on. Just thought I'd mention it as sometimes people don't realize how much that will damage paint and glass.

    People also don’t realise how ar the sparks can fly. If angled the right way the mustang could’ve been hit. Just a bit of cardboard at that distance is better than nothing.

    7:‘22 Matt when welding Something that thick you have the right idea of weaving it but you really want to put a nice route pass down first which is just nice and hot and no weaving just lay it into the crack then once you have that you can weave Back-and-forth but you were going to much you want a waist smaller weave and you need to turn the wire speed down some

    Matt, you’re not done welding. You forgot the side gusset plates that give it 85% of it’s strength. Right now you only have 15% of the strength you could have. Those dinky tack welds ain’t going to hold.

    Matt! Don't ever touch high pressure hydraulic lines like those! Especially a compromised one. If you want to know why.. look up hydraulic injection wounds *graphic* and you won't do it again. 💀 worked around tons of equipment and have to say this often with new people. Edit: for the people saying "it's only this much PSI" , please understand this is just a general rule. Those lines are pushing 2000psi on some attachments which is enough to have a bad day. Just not touching hydraulic lines when pressurized is a good habit. 👍🏻

    Those aren't high pressure hydraulic lines! 2000 psi or so. I spent years as an Engineer doing hydraulics and pneumatics and you want dangerous try 10,000 psi systems! What he's working on might get you a little oily if the pump isn't running but that's about it. If the line is already leaking there's no system pressure left to speak of ...

    The problem with attaching the MaDuce carriage to the rollbar is that you can only shoot forward facing and about 30 degrees to each side. If you welded a freestanding tripod/carriage in the center of the truck bed you'd have 360 degrees of coverage.

    I tried my best not to laugh during Matt's mongoose demo, but when he was hand dropping the ammo into the bed of the truck..I lost it;) Also..I don't think I've seen a new patch of concrete or asphalt that Matt hasn't had a burnout on. He's like a kid in a candy store ( poor Mere..haha ). You've accomplished SO much in the past few years Matt. You've done well! It's mind blowing to think back and realize that the very first video I watched of yours, was your dog playing with a dear in the yard of a house you were renting. You've come a long way since then.     Could tack a plate to the front of that mount to prevent it from pointing down too far in the front. So you can't aim it through your roof and front glass.

    FYI sparks from grinders and cutoff wheels mare glass and paint really badly. Well the glass even more then paints. The sparks leave little pits in the glass

    PRO TIP: In a time or strif or war, water becomes as valuable as guns and ammo. Put the WATER TANK inside your shop and run the lines underground into the shop. Make sure if a line were cut that your water storege will not run back out of the tank anywhere. This way you know you got some water... Just in case.... Daniel

    No matter what, the US is going metric. I know I'm going kicking and screaming myself but it's happening now. ALL vehicles being produced today are all metric. I've had to learn to work in metric because I'm a mechanic and I I'm learning CAD for my 3d printing. Yes, the speed limit signs are still in mile per hour BUT not too distant future, they will be put up.

    @@CainnechK It may be MANY years in the future, but it's coming. The inch is now based on the millimeter. Before Carl Edvard Johansson invented gauge blocks the inch was just either side of 25.4mm depending on who you asked. Johansson settled on 25.4mm for the inch and since then inch is based on the mm. The move may be VERY slow, but it's coming.

    I had that same gun as a kid. Had a stick pistol to. Won many a battle with them. Never ran out of ammunition never got hot. Best ever

    In the UK we call the black coat Tar Coat it also helps to bind the hardcore with the tar/asphalt as well

    I'd recommend some splash blocks under your gutter downspouts. Keep the water from eroding the asphalt.

    I built a winch mount for the back of my truck, and had to do some minor grinding here and there, project came out great.... however that metal dust went all over the truck which I couldn't see at first, fast forward a month and all those little dust specs turned into rust😱. Truck was white...and brand new.

    First thing... A real fabricator welds in sleeveless Ts. Second, you really need to set up a picnic table and grill under that tree just out front of the barn now under that tree. Perfect spot to have an outdoor rest stop/spectator area for your "practice" burnouts.
