    Also wondering if you finished with the step 2 and then the step 3 vs. using the Essie Gel Top Coat would that help it not lift?! I really loved your video showing the process, I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE the beginning when you show the time stamp for each step.... THATS A SOLID MOVE!! 🙂 I stumbled across your channel while looking for info on the ASP dip product & you have got yourself a new subscriber!! I’ll for sure report back once I do my own nails & I’m going to go back after buffing with the Step 2 and Step 3. 🤞🏻 that will solve the lift problem. THANKS AGAIN for your video!!

    The asp dip is just fine. Its how you applied it. Def washing your hands was a no no. All u needed to do was just brush the dust. Then apply the sealer. Dry 2 mins using a fan and apply the top coat it came with, fastor the brush could clump up on you and you can repeat the top coat again as soon as u finish. In other words dont wait for it to dry. Also it needs to air dry, meaning no fan or blowing on the nails. I like to use Gel base and top coat after the sealer step and forgo the air top coat. The gel is super shiny and will give you a smoother finish. Also you should probably dip them faster. You dont want them to be so thick. And you also don't want to do alot of filing on them either. Just a quick buff to smooth out and use a file to go around the back sides and underneath. If u file too much that will cause lifting too. I hope this helps some.

    The directions say to apply the activator (bottle #3) when you are finished with the layers of dipping powder THEN the Base & Top coat (bottle #2) AFTER you are finished buffing out nail. I find that applying 2 coats of activator works best. Then buff out your nails and last apply the base & top coat. The activator needs to make contact with the powder for it to work. It sets it. It cannot penetrate if you have a layer of base & top coat on!

    I normally put the activator before the top coat, then buff it face the foam towards your cuticle so it will not beat them up. Once you are done then put your top coat. You can use any gel top coat or any top coat. I would put a topcoat. Also the activator will harden your top coat brush, soyouneed twice the brush on a paper towel each time so you do not contaminate your top coat.

    Different systems give different instructions regarding uses of the activator and top (final shine) coat. My opinion (and I'm not a nail tech) is that sometimes they suggest repeats because it uses up more of their products, and you need to follow a simple rule: Base needs to be activated. If you distress/file off any activated base, you may expose unactivated base, and need more activator. But unless you're worried about lifting for a 21day mani, don't sweat it. Save top coat for last. Again... Just remember to reactivate exposed base if you're filing it into shape or smoothness. PS. "Base" in the above includes the dipped powder layer!

  • @kareninthevalley

    @kareninthevalley

    5 жыл бұрын

    Also you'll most likely need extra apps of activator if for some reason you put on more than 3 layers of dip powder. Activator every 3 (or 2 if you don't mind using it up) layers is sufficient in my experience.

    The instructions totally tell you to put the top coat on then the activator. I did it the same way and they definitely were so gritty! I tried it again with the activator first and it seemed like it maybe I didn't let the nails dry enough before putting the activator on because it made little dips where I would first put the brush on my nail. The dips I’ve seen and do on myself you are supposed to use a clear coat of dip as well! I’m not sure what brand you have and if they have a different set of instructions! Also you put the step two on and let it dry!

  • @cassandrav4684
    @cassandrav46845 жыл бұрын

    yeah, you most definitely do not want to put a top coat on before the activator, because the activator is what helps the powder form together and not lift. THEN apply the top coat (#2) that came with the set. IF you use any ordinary top coat, it will not merge well with the powder and in your case, causes the lifting. The top coat with the box is what helps seal the powder. I think the instructions of the quick dip is very confusing and doesn't make sense to how the dip powder is supposed to work.

    I did my last week and they lifted in the same area. I even used alcohol to help with get all the oils off my nails. The step 2 is confusing due to it being a base and top coat.

    These eyebrow comments are killing me. People clearly do not understand how microblading works. It’s like a tattoo it will scab and the scab comes off and it will look very natural and beautiful. I used this kit but I followed the instructions and proper storing but my number 2 bottle always hardens and glues the top and bottle together and gets clumpy. Again, I followed every instruction good things Sally’s always replaces it for free.

    Usually lifting is due to a prep issue. If you make sure the cuticle is completely lifted and off of your nail bed any acrylic will adhere better. It cannot adhere to dead tissue, which is what your cuticle is bc it’s white. Make sure if you wash your hands you use a soap with ZERO oils or just use rubbing alcohol. Also you should use the activator, wait a few minutes, then apply the base again. The dip powder probably laid on top of your cuticle tissue and when your nails grew it lifted

    Also brushing off the base on a paper towel between dipping it in the bottle and applying to a powdered nail will prevent powder from clumping up the brush and getting powder into the base formula

    I have read that if you wash your hands after shaping/buffing use Dawn soap because it cuts all oils. Then wipe with alcohol on a lint free wipe. I always do another round of Activator after the alcohol and let it dry for like 3 minutes before top coat. I have tried several brands but I love Dipwell. I am also head over heels for Fairy Glamour powder, but I haven't tried their liquids yet.

    Just a friendly suggestion- take more time/pay closer attention to your cuticle preparation. It really seems they weren't properly prepared. It's like 90% cuticle lifting only that you are dealing with in the one week update. Every bit of dead cuticle must be removed and any live tissue pushed back, for any material to have a chance to truly adhere. Then after cuticle preparation, wash nails with a non-oily, non-lanolin soap, dry with something lint free, rub entire nail (even under) with 90% alcohol, then use dehydrator, then primer, then proceed with system.

    Okay, I made my 1st attempt ever and got it on my cuticles hoping it will lift rather than rip my cuticles off as my nails grow. Next time I will be more careful and patient. I see how it works now but only practice will make perfect. Also, the brushes were all stuck together from the start, which made it harder to control.

  • @AmandaBellaa

    @AmandaBellaa

    5 жыл бұрын

    Practice makes perfect is right! :) I doubt you'll have any cuticle damage -- as you wash your hands/shower/etc, the dip will likely detach itself from that skin and grow out. It may lift a little bit off of the nail, but I wouldn't worry about it ripping the cuticle! And ahh that is so frustrating about the brushes - mine began to do that as I was finishing up the second hand. Much harder to work with, there is so much potential for this system, but it definitely has a learning curve. I'm glad you gave it a shot!! :)

    I would think so just leave some of your natural nail so it can adhere to your real nails and stay on longer if yo hate using full cover nails. It definitely will work with tips. Just glue the tips on first and do a thin layer 3/4 of the way up your nail (don’t get glue on cuticle area on the first layer) but on the 2/3 coat the whole nail with glue. and it will transition beautiful and be easier to file. By glue I mean #2 base
