I was born, raised, and still live in the south. It’s rare to see someone get a southern accent so close and not make us sound like bumpkins, but you do a great job at it. The southern accent ones are my favorite. They make me feel safe

tbh my ONE experience in a hospital ended up shaking me away from these videos lol. i'm always second guessing what they're doing and going "if i were really in this situation i'd want this to be over with so i can go back to sleep" this comment doesn't mean much, more just marveling over the wide array of human experiences. though, to be fair, I'm not a southerner. maybe that's the catch ;P

@@oranplan1630 Haha, as someone also used to hospitals, I find these videos quite relaxing. Maybe it’s because what I get done most often at the hospital are MRI’s, blood tests, and getting an infusion of my medication. Cranial exams seem far more relaxing than being in a loud machine full of banging sounds for an hour

I’m French so I don’t know much about all the Americans accent but the Southern accent makes me feel so cozy and safe, it’s also really tingly I can’t explain why ! As a Dane, all the different dialects here sound either tolerable, like you are super pretentious or dumb as a brick. Love the southern accent

I’m a nurse from Kentucky. This is how I think I sounded to all of my patients when I worked in California. 😂 I was worried this would make me cringe, but it’s so chill and soothing.

I suspect you are a machine designed only to relax us. The quality and frequency of what you put out is so high. I appreciate all the hard work you do!

I love the minor slip-up at 16:12 of "now, which side of your screen is it..." before catching it. Adds a whole authenticity to leave that in

You’re audio levels and mic sensitivity are just perfect. So many can’t get it right and it makes their content sound worse but you’ve nailed it

I'm neither American nor am I southern, but I still find this accent and demeanor calming and relaxing. It exudes an atmosphere of family and care. It's great.

I just can’t even express how safe this made me feel. I have a LOT of hospital related trauma and this just… it felt like you were healing my trauma :’) thank you Amy, you’re so incredible at what you do ❤

I’m sticking with my opinion when I say this. Southern is one of the most calming accents when the right tone is used (1:15 also that “Kay baby” melted my heart)

@@joliecravy5513 In my part of the south it’s used more as a way to show sympathy, like “bless your heart [I’m so sorry you had to go through that]”. It’s extremely common to say it to a sick person. That and “[god] love your heart”. It’s rare to hear someone say it as a backhanded insult (though I often do 🙂).

As someone who has tried to commit multiple times and had plenty of good/bad night shift nurses in the e.r I loved this. They changed me they bathed me they fed me they took good care of me and made sure I had a mom. Makes me cry to see someone so sweet

The power of southern hospitality will cure it all! Even though I've never been to the US this kind of accent still manages to be incredibly soothing. Something about it just oozes reassurance.

I'm southern with a pretty thick drawl. Last year I moved to Montana. I work in the hospital and my accent comforts folks here. Not sure why but listening to your accent I can imagine that must be what my patients hear. To me, I'm just talkin' but my precious patients tell me they like it. Lol!! So many people try to exaggerate it. Your "less is more" approach and warm demeanor without being overbearing in the slightest is something even Oscar winning performers can't capture about people from the South.
