Hello NI!

My town (now a city) was mentioned twice 😉 it used to be called camulodinum & London was londinium I believe in Roman times …. Oooh I wonder if a map can be found from that era! ☺️

Colchester is a beautiful town, but just outside, in the Dedham Vale/Constable Country region, it’s paradise (to me, anyway).

I have a very old school atlas which shows many countries all over the world coloured pink to indicate they were part of the British empire at that time. Quite shameful, wealth built on exploitation. But, that aside, thank you for such a soothing 30 minutes :^)

My 23 and Me results say that most of my DNA is from that mapped area... Throw in some of the Norman Conquest and some of Germany voila, c'est moi 😆😆
