@16:51 That is by design. The Gem80 supports stepped and center post capslock keys. Depending on your keycap you have to change the position of the switch.

Lovee the keyboard sounds!

I just took my board apart tonight and switched back to the FR4 plate after starting out with the aluminum one. I also went with the sleeve gaskets and did a full tape mod to the back of the PC board. I really like shine-through keycaps, so I went with a budget set off of Amazon. I'm pretty sure if I installed the Nuphy keycaps the board would sound even better than it does now. Overall, I am very happy with my first build!

I forgot to mention, I also went with the black board and raspberry switches. They feel very similar to the Cowberry switches I use on my Nuphy Air75v2, which is my travel board.

Ahhhh those switches and key caps sound so creamy! I prefer this sound to the thocky sound of other keyboards, but you can’t go wrong with either. Thanks for the video, glad it was as relaxing for you as it was for us 😊

massive improvement, if you ever think to get a new one just for fun, i recommend you one of my builds, which is the epomaker aura75 kit, with the KTT Kang Whites (lubbed)

The extra set of holes for caps lock is for "stepped capslock" style key caps where the stem is off centered

ahhh that's a pretty keyboard! wish to get a new keyb someday lol, 'til then i'll just watch your review videos haha!

The 2 caps holes are for the 2 types of Caps keycaps. One stepped and one standard, each needs a different switch placement.

thank you so much! & as mentioned in the description of my last vid , my grandpa passed away last week so my uploading schedules gonna be not as consistent for a while because i wanna stick to only creating videos when i feel in a good mindset ~ but ill make sure to post at least every week, probably a new video every 3-4 days

The way you type is so crazyyyyy I've never seen that. Its like you are only using the index and middle fingers on each hand. You'll improve your speed and comfort if you use all fingers! Thanks for the relaxing review!

I know we all grieve in different ways, and if making videos helps you, I'll support you. I'm just worried about you, I love your content and I don't want to see you bad. like i said in the last video description too, i never film in a bad mood. these videos were filmed almost a week apart and during this last week i spent time with family and will continue to be around my loved ones as we grieve, and when im in the mood to create , ill create :)

i used to type like that myself but it took me a long while to get used to integrating all of my fingers 😔 i can only imagine how it must feel for her loll

I have a KBD75 V2 that I custom built. I got a brass plate for it which was the main reason I went for it over other 75%s and I went for Kailh Box Jades for the switches. It is loud as shit and I love it so much. I also took the time to holey mod the durock screw in stabs I bought for it and it was so worth it. All in all my keyboard ran me $400 USD and I regret nothing. I even went and flashed custom QMK firmware to make my keyboard light up in lesbian and trans pride colors. It was worth every penny.
