As an experienced chess player not only was this extremely entertaining while relaxing, but it’s crazy to see how smart Dido is like - he doesn’t KNOW concepts of chess but his intuition and his thought processes basically get him there as if he did know, very impressive and a lot of potential

I watched both videos and you both played excellent! It was a pleasure to watch!

7:43 when he was deciding where to castle I saw the future. Pawn e6 e5 allows for the activation of the light squared bishop on the kings side. He would have 4 lasers pointing at him after black castled. f8 e8 activates the rook and now Dido has 2 bishops, a queen and a rook closing in on his king. There is even some knight move by black to get it back over. I really hoped I wasn’t right.

Damn this takes concentration, doing asmr whilst playing chess 👀

It is actually funny how in all four most popular d4 openings, Nc3 on move 2 is not fitable. For the Queens gambit and the Stonewall, the pawn goes to c4. For the London System the pawn goes to c3 or c4. And for the Trompowsky White varies.

28:11 is a blunder I think because bishop takes night on c5 and if pawn takes bishop c5 then pawn to d4 secures whites queen every spot is covered and it being attacked

i’m new to chess but at 32:33 could you not just move ur king right then if queen goes 1 diagonal u protect w rook or if she goes two diagonal u take with rook? if she goes across it would work but if she goes down it’s checkmate

First game, you overcooked the fork. He took the Knight do deflect the queen. Should have potentially played h3, followed by King to H2, but the weakness of the light squares was overbearing anyways.

27:30 i think he was trying to threaten your knight for it to move so that his queen could go to f3 and for your rook on e1

rook to f8 would have been a possible move at the end of game 1... it was not checkmate if I'm not mistaken
