That is absolutely amazing! A pleasure to watch. I remember every Sunday evening was thorough shoe cleaning time b4 school the next day... They were set out to dry on old newspaper overnight and given a final polish/buff the following morning with little velvet hand sewn pouches stuffed with old, washed laddered tights! ... Mid week they had a 'quick clean' a'spit n polish' my grandad called it... But we were never allowed to school with dirty shoes... We were taught.. 'however poor you are, there's no need for anyone to leave the house looking dirtly' show some pride in your appearance... Its stuck with me that ethos... I always look at a person's shoes to this day... It says a lot about a person. Although I dreaded the loathsome chore of this ritual every wknd... I'm very grateful now for the standards instilled in me at a young age. Thank you for this video. 🙏🏼

Nothing brings me greater joy than watching the sudsy scrubbing parts. Literally could just watch those on repeat.

I love watching different types of restoration videos. Went from watching car restorations, to hardware restoration, to toy restorations, to painting restorations, to wood restorations and now i've come to clothes/shoes restorations! It's fascinating to see all the different tools everyone is using for their own type of restoration. This is also the second ASMR restoration i've seen (peside the painting one) I guess it can be hard to relax with all the powertool sounds and sandblasting hehe

The procedure, tools, table and results, all immaculate, its noticable how much pride you take in what you do....

Yaritza Jimenez honestly they shoes are so strange looking that I thought, from the thumbnail, that they were actually Middle English like the time period and this was a restoration for a museum. Of course that’s incredibly stupid. I don’t think there are any shoes from the 1200’s that could possibly exist in a state where they were capable of being restored

Ну, зря Вы такие не доверчивые. Хороший сапожник оказывается может многое, другое дело это не дёшево, все средства которые используются для восстановления дорогие и опасные для здоровья ну и трудо-часы тоже. Так что есть смысл восстанавливать только дорогую и любимую обувь. Да и вообще, вот по стирала я кросовки, краской для восстановления замши (не профессиональной) "попщикала" и сама удивилась - как новые (четыре года не аккуратной носки пережили). Мы сами можем быть волшебниками. Если бы были проблемы с подошвой я бы не справилась, это профессионал только исправить может.

@@kitsune3373 у вас не получится минимализировать свои расходы путём ремонта приобретённых товаров, у вас не получится отказаться от повторных приобретений новых товаров, поскольку ресурс, заложенный в них с каждым разом всё меньше. Это делается сознательно, вас заставляют повторять покупки как можно чаще для опустошения ваших карманов и для затоксичивания окружающей среды мусором.

Во-первых, где найдешь такого профессионала, кругом одни "сапожники"? А во-вторых, работа такого профессионала будет стоить, как новая пара обуви. Как говориься, овчинка выделки не стоит...

​@@theimmortalphoenix6562 yes -- trace your foot and send it in to them via snail mail (the instructions for this are on their website). they'll be a little tight at first, and then they will fit perfectly after a few wearings. they are THE most comfortable shoes. their customer service is great -- if the shoes don't become comfortable they'll make it right.

It may look easy but don't forget allthe dust you have to deal with and smell of all the chemicals including glue smell repair people is dealing with. Please do not underestimate all the work this video is showing since I was there few hours and very difficult place to do deal with for long periods of time.

Я когда работал в сапожной мастерской в Аргентине, ещё не такое востанавлевал, вообще убитые приносиле приходилось пол сапога перешивать, клиен плотил было выгодно, на Украине у нас такой ремонт не выгоден легче новые пошить. Сейчас сапожным делом уже как 15 лет не занимаюсь, хотя руки помнят, каждый процес, ремонт и пошить новые это две разные вещи. Привет всем с Аргентины

Nice reborn, may I ask why did not you take out the strap ? I'm guessing it is riveted at the buckle, but it seems it would have been better/easier for the cleaning and the re-conditionning, but it's your choice. 👏🏻🙏🏻

My grandfather use to make shoes to soldiers in WW2. He still have all the old suplies and he still repair our friend's and family's shoes. Now a side of me want to ask him to teach me. And I'm reagretting I didn't before since he is getting old.

Anna Ebe do it! nothing better for a grandparents soul than to pass down a skill! It’s great for one’s mental state as well. Far too many of our elders suffer from depression. It’s even safer when you find out just how many feel old and useless. Ask your grandfather to teach you how to make and fix shoes.

This looks like such hard work!
