Gosh most of the content is pretty serious and dour, it reminds me a bit of the "Children's Newspaper" which I was given from time to time as a kid and found dreadfully dull; far preferred DC Thompson's comics. I think your book is definitely intended as an "improving" volume, I wonder what demographic of children it was aimed at . . .
