ASKING MY MUM WHY SHE ABANDONED ME FOR 21 YEARS
When I was 9 years my mum told us she was going to further her education in the capital city Accra . It was a LIE !!! She left us ( me and my 2 sisters) to the USA.
It’s been 21 years now. In this video I get to ask her, why she abandoned us for this long

Sorry for all the hardships your family had to go through
Hello guys, I am Tracy. Nanelle's second youngest sister, and honestly my mom's migration to the states will always be something bittersweet to me because I was born here in the states. But without her sacrifices I wouldn't be where I am today. None of my siblings would be where they are today and all I can say is mom you are so near and dear to all of us. We love you to the ends and I am so proud to call you MOM. I love you plenty. Thank you for evertything truly. Thank you for sharing your story.

I'm sure she doesn't but we will all wish her well and pray for her to get all her heart desires. 🙏
Sometimes some parents forget that their kids need them and not their money always. You can always make money but can never get back the time. 21yrs is too long. It must have been hard for both the mother and the kids left behind.
My sister left for the USA some years back leaving her kids behind, it was really tough bringing them in and she had to relocate to Canada. Now they have reunited after 7 long years to God's glory
As an expat who left my 3kids back home, I can relate with this mom. 🥺🥺🥺 But God is faithful, he will help me get my kids soon.
As a mom who has left her baby home to fend for the family, I totally understand mommy 😢. Dear our kids, please understand that We can't abandon you .we love you so much ❤
When you spoke about the lady who used to pray over you at school I could not hold my tears anymore!Mamas closing words were very powerful,we should learn to care for ourselves and our health.

I can relate 😢
I can relate to some of her experiences. When i moved to the UK, I moved without my son. The lockdowns prevented my from going for him when i had planned (it took a full YEAR). It was a horrible experience for me and my mom took lovely care of him however the separation was a lot for me. And he regressed (he was 2). When he moved here he was 3 and needed to adjust. He's doing well now. A few weeks ago he asked me if I remembered when he "lost me". Despite how much childcare cost here if we cant live here together, I'd rather go home.

There are families prospering in Africa and taking care of their children in Africa. Do African leaders deserve praise?
@juliaemeh
9 ай бұрын
@@py20, you need to ask some of those families what they are doing to keep prospering the way you feel they are, some of them have keyed in to the corruption properly, and some doing other shady things, which is why there's unnecessary killings and disappearance of people. Only few are truly prospering plainly. So people have genuine reasons to leave as not everyone can subscribe to such dirty lifestyle.

@@juliaemeh I have no problem with anyone who wants to leave; in fact, I have. I am so glad your mom is willing to understand how you felt. Some parents would get defensive and start listing all the sacrifices and the money they sent. We appreciate all the sacrifices but a mother's love is irreplaceable and both parties should give each other grace.
What I like most about this video is Nanelle's mindset, kind heart and great sense of wisdom. Most people are quick to criticise others without examining the reasons behind their actions. Nanelle dealt with this in a very mature way even though she was somehow impacted by her mother's absence. Thank you, dearest Nanelle, for being so gracious and considerate in this video; may you all find the place for healing and complete bonding as a family.

This was touching. I've always wondered why parents migrate and leave their kids behind. Would love to hear the experience of each sibling that was left in Ghana since situations affect each child differently. The first child normally is often the most traumatized as they had to grow up faster & stretch themselves thin to support the younger siblings while going through missing their parents also

You’ve got all of us crying
This is so beautiful, the sacrifices our parents pay to give us the best life, may God bless them. God bless you mummy
Nanelle, this is the time you also tell us how you bond with mum after some many years apart. Especially now that you have a child.
This got me ! God safe every child out there lacking parental care.
Oh Nanelle, you made me cry here. I had to rush to my office washroom to cry. Some of us had our parents but we never had the emotional support. I had to emotionally support my younger siblings as a child but God has been good to us. I do not blame my parents. They did their best and God bless them. It is well.
I experienced it and did all my best. For my children not to even smell it. I came abroad pregnant with hubby and in 4 months paid for my 2.5 years old to relocate and meet me. Yes, many times they might not appreciate the sacrifice, but in doing so for them, i healed myself of the hurt caused by my parent leavingme with my grandmother. No one can care for your children more than you, the parent. My safety and security started to evolve when my parents came to collect me and my sister from my grandmother's mansion. Emotional security is far more important to a child than all the money in the world.
Jeees Nanelle, you made me cry. I appreciate how open and vulnerable you and your mom was talking about this. This was tough!
Nanelle. Thank you for this video. This is so important. Mother daughter relationships are gold.
Life is full of so many uncertainty and risk, your mum is very lucky to have you kids back still sane and not wayward. So many parents lost it all in the end. Their kids end up in rehab due to lack of parental care. Congratulations to her and thanks to you kids too for upholding greatness
