And it’s not good that influencers are using steroids to perpetuate the narrative of what a “good, fit male body” should look like. Our society is unhealthy all the way around including our psychosis. The expectations on men with body objectification is just as bad as females if not worse. They don’t have a clue what we have to go through to get a muscular physique. It’s a lot of hard work, dedication, and consistency all to be thrown away as, “you look average.”

As a lower weight guy, I totally relate to this. I think the baggy t-shirt is part of the issue too. I'm around 170 pounds and look like a "civilian", so to speak, if i'm not wearing something tight or a tank. Knowing I can bench into the 300's though, and the years of work it took to get there, makes me not care too much about their perception, lol. Non-gym people just look for biceps and if those aren't pumped and flexed, or you aren't a 250 pound social media monster whose arms stretch out an XXL sweater, they can't calculate.

This video blew my mind. I go hard in the gym every day, eat my egg whites and chicken breast but still my physique is nowhere even close to Will. The fact that these groups of couch potatoes and the beer gut bods rated him at a 2 or below shows that people just have no idea what they are talking about or how much hard work, willpower and dedication it takes to be in shape like Will is. My takeaway - fitness is for you and you alone. You cant maintain your fitness because other people will notice and give you compliments because people just don't know and don't care. Push yourself in the gym only for you - thats the way its gotta be.

This was such a good video and an interesting experiment.

It was basically Greg Doucette who made me realise that to achieve a certain physique you need to be on steroids, it never crossed my mind because - why would it? In music, average pop music listeners can't differentiate a good 2-3 year amateur and a concert musician. Professionals in every field battle among each others on micro details that nobody care about outside of it. Success most often comes from being good enough at several skills, not being best in the world in a single domain. Engineering + business + marketing or music + acting + fashion.

Got a bit lazy last year and let the ball drop a bit and I`m now trying to get back into working out and eating healthier, and doing a decent job so far. But most of why I keep doing it and having the motivation it`s simply because I hate myself and desperately am trying to change how I look, and I specially hate my belly. I`ve lost weight all around my body, even my butt - which I liked very much - but the godamn gut never seemed to disappear. I swear if I could pay for surgery, I would. What the fuck did the media do to our perceptions man? Sometimes it feels like an irreversible damage, it`s so maddening.

@@moose6459 It's not about the flex, but to show that depending on how your body fat, you're going to look bigger in different clothes and/or without any clothes on top. For example, if you're just dirty bulking your way up, you're going to look way bigger in clothes at some point, making you look like the ultimate beast. On the other hand, if you keep your body fat low, you're actually going to look way more impressive shirtless. It'd be to teach people how much people's idea of your physique change according to your choice of clothes and body fat. Another interesting part is that regular t-shirts make you look a lot smaller to the average person than muscle shirts do (at least if your arms and shoulders are developed, which they are on Will). Simply the length of his sleeves hid the shape of his upper arms, making him look a lot smaller. The width of his t-shirt also hid his lat pretty well.

will i really appreciate the amount of time and hard work you put in your amazing contents. and i really like you bro, i guess there are 2 reasons they called u tik toker :D. 1 your t-shirt sleeves are concealing your arms a little bit more than they should (cause you have nice arms). and 2 even tough u got a very good natty body, as every person can become even better, i guess you could work a little bit more on your shoulders (mainly Lateral head) and get even better than you are right now. as your arms are too big, the make your shoulder look kind of small, you shoulder should definitly be bigger than your arms to achieve even better look. i'm not a troll bro, love u the way u are, but if getting better is the case that was my suggestion. respect bro

I honestly think people got confused. When you walk up to strangers with a mic and start asking "social experiment" questions, and then ask them to line you up on a scale of 'genres' and not just physiques, they'll choose the first thing that stands out, which is a Tik Toker, because that's what those influencers mainly do. They were rating you based on how closely you correlated to that job, not necessarily to that physique.
