Do not sweat the SAT scores, they are not heavy on that anymore. I did not take those tests and I was accepted and got into Columbia University. Kinda interested in hearing more from those who transferred into Columbia; apparently aryan, and I recall seeing a video on how cecelia transferred in. Hi Asyush, I transferred to Columbia last fall (2021) from a community college near my area. I seriously think the traits they seek the most are the good character pillars. They want us to be passionate and deliver that passion into the community service. This university was not one of my choice. I received the invitation for early entry and I did not apply right away because I wasn't sure to go there until the very last day because I received an email from one of the advisors. I gave all reasons why I did not want to accept and that hey could give my place to other student but they ended up giving me a place because they believed in me and what I have done. Some students want Ivy league universities because of the prestige it entails to carry the name of an ivy league alumni. That is ego and ego is the worst enemy of humans and they can smell that. Honesty, passion, and service are the traits they love the most. The only thing I did when applying was to be as honest from the heart and the things you have done and want to do for our society. To write an essay that is heartfelt because you are really passionate about what you want to do for our society to improve. I never thought I was going to be accepted and to this day, I still do not feel the weight of the importance of Columbia University. I feel that any other university can be great because we are the ones who make a university, the university does not make us. Nonetheless, I do have to mention that my experience with my professors has been great. They do squeeze our brains and that is pleasantly challenging. Humbleness and service is one thing they really like. I did not take the SAT or any other test but the Duolingo to test my English proficiency because I am Mexican. My GPA was 3.9.

I'm not sure if they have tours in the summer but as for studying, it can definitely be brutal but I still think college is easier in high school due to how you dont have to be stuck in class for 8 hours a day and can calibrate your schedule to your specific academic/passion/social/health needs

I have the opposite opinion lol, I had a perfect GPA in hs w like 15 APs but im at an ivy league college and for the first time am struggling with grades, you wont get a good gpa without investing in time to study unless you go to a college where the classes aren't super rigorous (depending on major and course load ofc) - take this w a grain of salt tho ig cuz my courses take up 8 hrs/day plus 10 hrs of lab per week and I'm taking like 4-5 stem classes tg because of my major reqs so i have exams extremely often and no time to study for them but you have to study to do well in most classes

Thomas is asking the wrong question !!! How come you didn’t get into Harvard, Yale or Stanford is the right question ??? But what can we expect from a Harlem Community College student ???

Lol a lot of people who go to Columbia did get into Harvard, Yale, and Stanford. Columbia is ranked higher than Yale and Stanford and has a lower acceptance rate and has the same rank and about the same acceptance rate as Harvard. I also know a number of students at Harvard who didn’t get into Columbia or and I know one who even Cornell lmao but got into Harvard. It’s not a linear scale.

Keep those blinders on baby. That’s why you’re out of the rankings this year. Lots should really be some. And when you prep for the LSAT you’ll learn that the definition of some is at least one.
