Finally. No more of danny trying to make asking a new age motley crew, def leapard or guns roses. Dont get me wrong i love those bands. Thats wear rock n roll started for me aince i was born. My dad would play the rock n roll he grew up on. But as i grew up my taste got heavy and finally songs like not the american average and to the stage will be writin. I love heavy AA songs

Jeez, you guys are ignorant. Bands make music as an expression of themselves. They make music they like; they don't cater to the fans just like Ben was catering to Danny. And one important thing that you conveniently omitted is that *the whole band wanted to go back musically.* Bring Me the Horizon don't *want* to write that type of music anymore.

  • @hereticdesigns9819

You can't expect bands to just do what fans want, a band write what they want, they take influences from the style of music they enjoy and over time that changes along with a bands sound. Also screaming, growling, ect can lead to blowing your voice out, if this happens to a vocalist eg. Oil, they take it safe and scream less in order to keep their vocal cords heathy.

yeah yeah yeah I get what you guys are saying and you're right. I didn't mean to necessarily pick out BMTH. It just seems to me they're doing it for the money. You cannot convince me a band like FOB isn't doing it for money at this point. I just listen to this music because its about deeper meanings, not necessarily money. I fear thats where BMTH is heading t'words. I liked drown thought it had a lot of emotion behind it, reminded me of Blessed with a curse but this new happy song.... not so much

  • @JakeMoresea

    @JakeMoresea

weston shugarts all bands who gets popular do it for money. Maybe not as their top priority, but definitely for money. You can't tell me that a band who starts go get popular and earn money isn't gonna want to earn more. Just because they like that cash that rolls in *doesn't* mean that alters their style. That's an assumption of bad integrity of the band, and that's stupid.

You know, I used to be a ridiculously huge fan of Asking Alexandria. over the past year, my tastes have changed, so I don't really listen to them anymore, but despite of all that, I can honestly say that I'm glad to see them moving on and not giving up on the music they love and want to write and not giving up on their fans. Not a lot of bands stick it through and push forward like they are.

you know, thinking about it, Death to Destiny was an OKAY album. Denis was right when he told ben to make an asking alexandria. because face it: its not Ben Bruce. its not James Cassells. not Sam. not Cameron. and not denis. but ASKING FUCKING ALEXANDRIA!!! THATS the band we love dearly. when i even HEAR the band name, i automatically think to Final Episode, A Prophecy. i dont think of Run Free, Don't Pray for Me, Break Down the Walls and such. because thats not really asking! its more of a "this is a band, let me tell you what I want played." does anyone else agree? or do you disagree? CIVILLY reply back and let me know. (and by that, i mean dont trash talk me. that shit dont fly even when my step mum tries it to this day.)

That's really odd. I knew the 80s glamrock kinda influences came from Danny, but I didn't think he was trying to cut the heavy parts entirely... Which is saddening... Because Asking Alexandria is a metalcore band... I think they're making a good move... But I do hope they keep some of those influences, because they actually worked. From Death To Destiny remains my favourite Asking Alexandria album.

I agree with Ricky Viper man. Funny how Ben kinda' beat down on From Death to Destiny. In my opinion it is their best record so far. But I guess it wasn't as much the record itself, rather the circumstances in which it was written. Danny might have been great in AA, but when someone isn't into something, or when you just rub too much with one another, it's sad, but it's better to call it off. I absolutely loved their new single though. I can't wait for the next record to come out.

How can you say the black is immature? You clearly haven't listen to any of the songs with any real attention. The black may not by my personal favorite album by the band but in terms of maturity this album clearly has the most. SUAS was very childish, to match their life at the time. R&R got much more serious and dark to match their problems they were having and was the most revealing album they've had in the idea that they didn't hide their issues, they showed it for all the world to see even though they knew they didn't want to change. FDTD was personally my favorite or at least tied with R&R, it was very different from everything they've done before and Danny's singing skills really showed, but it still dipped into the childish story of "I know I'm making mistakes, I like it that way, it's made me who I am". The black however is quite different, they've gone back to their roots instrumentally while the lyrics are all about moving on from the loss of their best friend, moving on from the betrayal of their ex-lovers, saying we've had this problem and were going to fix it, and telling their fans how much they love them and that their fans aren't alone in their struggles. Every album with Danny was very band centric, now with Denis the band finally stops being self centered lyrically and they even wrote an anthem for their fans. If you think that growing up from their past issues, healing from the pain they endured, and finally appreciating their fans isnt mature, then I don't want to know what you think is mature.

I mean, their new album is good and everything, but their was just something about Danny being in the band that made AA. They keep trying to keep AA alive when really it died when Danny left.

  • @ryanbritt9806

honestly, between the rock n roll style mixed with the metalcore genre, that was a damn good combination. when reckless and relentless came out, it surely brought more dirty, edged sound which i really digged. sadly it didnt mesh with all the band mates since danny was into the 80s rock while the others were into metalcore. from death to destiny had some good tunes, but it was surely evident that the album was not good as it should have been because of the issues with the band itself during the writing process. best of luck to both parties though, but i will say im not impressed with either as I find We Are Harlot slightly boring and the new release from AA is really generic. Ive LONGGG grew out the Stand Up and Scream stage and personally, if AA goes that route again, i would beleive they would be going the wrong direction as far as maturing as a band. just my two cents

Is the band itself amazing yes are the songs that you guys put out amazing yes can the new singer sing 100% yes but when I think of Asking Alexandria I think of a unique sound and a unique voice and that is Danny's he is one of the only reasons you guys sounded differently then other bands now you guys are fading into like bullet for my Valentine and stuff like that what was Danny's voice and you guys backing him up on the instrumentals there was just a unique voice and a unique band itself now everything is starting to blend in instead of being stuff that is new now I'm able to pinpoint stuff that you guys are singing now and relate it to stuff and other bands that I listened to back in the day now that's not a bad thing but that's not also a good thing and if I'm the only one right now that is putting this message out there I know for a fact that there are thousands if not millions of other people that feel the same way because who am I I'm a nobody alright so if I'm willing to say this there has to be so many others it's just you guys had a unique sound that was different from a lot of other bands but now your sound is starting to blend in with countless others and that's not a diss towards anyone or the band at all 'cause like I said I am still a huge fan but the uniqueness of your guys is banned is somewhat gone now I'm sorry to say that but also like I said if I'm willing to put this out there like this there are countless others that think or feel the same way that I do but like I said before I am still a huge fan it's just that thorough uniqueness of the band is dissipating and it is gone

No I didn't like any thing heavy and wanted them to take it all out and try to make the more rock and roll than heavy rock and that's what asking Alexandria is. Ben had no choice but to listen to Danny

the reason why i stopped listening to AA is because all of there songs sounded the same until the black ablum came out that's why i think Denis was perfect for AA. in my opinion .

i really hope this will get the best record of asking, because the first song isn´t nearly the best song from asking. It´s far away from that. And also there was a post from Ben, where stands that the new album will get influences from Pantera, AX7 and Bon Jovi. Is this still what he wants to make or is this the past?

The album he wrote whilst Danny was in the band was supposed to sound, according to Ben, like a "shitty A7X". They tossed those songs in the bin because it wasn't Asking Alexandria. So no, the new Asking Alexandria won't have that sound. He said it compares to Reckless and Relentless. c:

I disagree with you, the old danny was way much better than denis imo, but now danny have no passion to AA's style anymore, and that's the problem.

+Karel Encarnacion I disagree, Dennis has weak highs. His lows arent bad, but his cleans are shit without autotune... and he sounds horrendous live, cant even hit basic notes properly... Danny sounds alot better now than he used to, and has a stronger, more mature sounding voice...
