We have rhubarb plants, I'd never consider letting the horses eat the leaves. Our horses would not eat broccoli in the summer but in the winter they love the stalks and do fine. I've also never had a problem feeding lots of apples to our horses. Our apples are heritage cider-apples, firm and tart, not those modern sugary things one finds in the store. We start with just a few and build up to where we are feeding a bucket at a time. It actually saves on hay. The fruit is more than half water so the horses don't overeat, they can live in an orchard and not have a problem, - again, not the sweet modern apples... :-)

Wild green onion will make your horse colic, it did mine. Her vet had to pump her stomach out. So I'd imagine that anything in the onion family should be avoided.
