CNA needs to turn off the mics of the supporting cast in these dialogues with a Minister, bc it is very distracting to hear everyone agreeing verbally with every thing DPM says.
CNA can consider to put time-stamps for this interview so that we can focus on the parts that matter to us.
Good to have a more diverse discussion rather than having a panel which agrees with everything having concerns left unanswered.

Too many foreigners in Singapore are hiring and promoting their own people at the expense of true-blue Singapore citizens born and raised locally. The end result is that many Singaporeans have to work as PHV drivers and food delivery riders.

The budget need something for those people whom are long term unemployed, like paying a 2k salary to push them to take courses to get back into workforce. More and more citizens are like this in SG which could amount to 10-20%. Middle aged people 30 years old unemployed, mums wanting to work and older retrenched people for years driving grab, government have to try cover them. The age old excuse is the applicants will abuse, but during the course they can be set up by govt to take up a slot in a company. Its unfair as people are required to show proof of employment last 6 months or 12 months to get into a program.

Please explain why HDB can allow private property sellers to escape the 15months waiting period to buy resale HDB direct while I can't even apply for a HDB rental flat even I have long-term medical problems and financial stress .
I reckon that the well-to-do should contribute more. Going on Holidays is a luxury. Many go on holiday more than once a year. In this aspect, Govt should consider a GST on full-package tours. With this additional taxes support the entrepreneur with wages and rental expenses subsidies

Hdb use rental flat to house bto buyers but dont allow Singaporean to apply even when we face serious medical problems and financial stress. Why?
Better interview other mum facing difficulties for expenses or unable to go courses rather then interview mum that can be like this one ... only 2 out of 10
Clearly Hdb is abusing its obligation to elderly Singaporean who need urgent housing need and use those rental flats to house their bto customers. Is this right?

@@JohnLee-gt3sr In academia (which the woman professor should very well know herself), one does not say things overly extreme such as "very positive" especially when these policies were only just announced. No one can be sure the outcomes would be "very positive". Can you be sure? The so-called "positive" policy are still the same Covid polices, unemployed getting about $2000 per year of GSTV, COL when they need a salary to be pushed to take courses to enter workforce. Employers condemn citizens whom are unemployed for 6 months or more, from here they find it difficult to get back into workforce. This permanent rot will take place.
