Very generalised information. It also depends how gifted a child is. If your child (like my own) is operating at double his age not accelerating is extremely detrimental. Their are plenty of studies that prove this.

Their behavior is not 'behind' . They are not allowed to be ahead.

Gifted children isolate themselves. They get in to depression .

Irene Veigas they don’t isolate. They cannot find kids to excellerate with . Usually their talent (70%) cannot be met by a regular teacher if he/she sticks to schoolcurriculum.

Spot on. The misunderstandings go on. It could not be otherwise unless of course you're gifted yourself.

It seems in Australia - that the smartest is still not the most popular - in saying this she is still 1 full year ahead and nearly 2 years ahead in some subjects,... Help!!!???

It's not we choose to have such a kid. School uses methods wich isolates these kids. Because school systems have changed for the worse. They have made the climate in classes very strict. Wich makes the kids feel they do not fit in.

Well my daughter was very very gifted, they wanted to move her up a year and skip prep - but everyone screamed no to me! So I let her go and now she is very popular but very bored - her grades are slipping? I tell here school is very important - but she doesn't want to over achieve her friends x

@@drireneveigas9355 You should act to stimulate his interest one way or the other or risk that he'll get into trouble later in life. Many gifted fail high school or uni because they were not provided the stimulation they needed in their formative years - they lose interest and never study. What's his interests? Supply and nourish.

My son is very good in software. But big companies after seeing his work they will interview. They want him. But they find that he has no engineering degree..they do not select him. At the present company they gave him a good position. It's a small local company. He says on my strength I have done. Degrees do not provide skills. So how to get a good placement. I do motivate him. He is interested in multiple things and he thinks high and too serious for his age
