This guy is so clever and clearly has huge experience in this field
A productive analogy just came to me: having ocd and being upset by the intrusive thoughts is like walking into a grocery store and being mad that there are any items for sale that I don’t want. Rather than just choose thoughts I want to have to support my mission, while walking past the thoughts I don’t need, I’m panicking that thoughts I don’t want are available.
Love you Patrik and your amazing work. Thank you for being there for us and being a voice to help people.
I am so grateful for these videos. I like to randomly listen to them for ten minutes after I’ve forced myself to walk away from a compulsion earlier than usual - helps me to regulate Also Patrick is great he’s so funny and expert in ocd Funny that he develops all the weird intrusive thoughts from his clients Tolerating uncertainty is so hard but we can never give up! ‘Ocd is the thief of time’
Regarding diet: any foods that cause inflammation in the body can also cause inflammation in the brain and affect the blood chemistry and hormones being secreted and absorbed. Sugar, processed foods, seed oils are damaging to every cell in the body. So reduce processed foods, sugars, and seed oils to a minimum and witness the effects on mood and general psychology.
This was really helpful. Thank you!
Great episode. Thank you
My thoughts not seem intrusive anymore, they now feel completely intentional, it's like i actually want to have them? How can i tell if it's intrusive?
I am suffering from Harm OCD and I am really struggling with it. I have thought that I pushed a person in front of cars and this idea is killing me actually💔. I don't know what to do
I don't believe it's ridiculous that we believe OCD it's just we have gotten caught up in the pattern
