I used to sell the 21 series and Kayanos at a running specialty store back in the 2010’s 🙌🏻 the 21 series were classified as the mid support shoes, higher density foam under the arch on the inside of sole to help correct pronation. The kayano was the high end support and cushion. Adding more gel throughout the sole and also more of the higher density foam under the arch for the flatter and more aggressive pronators. Hope this helped!! Also the 21 series became the 2000s after the 2190s… if I remember correctly

I’ve got 5 pairs of the Gel-Kayano 14’s; by far the most comfortable sneakers I own.

I never bought with asics until last week! I tried 1130 vanilla and immediately fall in love. Straight to home with my new 1130 and kayano 14 is en route. You must try these asics in person and it really based on your outift. It would less appealing in a slimmer/skinnier outfit but if you are a more baggy type of person the shoes will fit your style perfectly! As for the comfort, I prefer 1130 than kayano 14. Kayano 14 sizing seems bigger to me as I use 10,5 in 1130 and use 10 in kayano 14.

YES…DO the Gel NYC too! I’ve been eyeing them for one exact while.. just haven’t pulled the trigger yet

It's amazing how ASICS has taken off with their sports style Y2K shoes. They have become genuinely trendy. You should do a video on the ASICS sub brand Onitsuka Tiger 🐯

Gel-NYC and 2160 are my favorites followed by the Kayano 14.

Gel-NYC's are amazing. I have 4 pairs lol my favorite Asics model for sure and I think you'd really like them. Plush under foot but not too plush. Comparable to an NB 2002r or 1906r IMO. Definitely grab a pair of those!

I’ve owned all and I would say Kayano 14 toe box is small 1130 is the most tts and the most comfortable and my favorite. Can’t beat it for the price!

Thank God I found this comment. Got my first pair of 2160’s and went up half size. Found a pair of 1130’s for retail but TTS and I was hoping I made the right choice💪🏼🫡

I think the Gel Kayano 14s have the most diverse collaborations among the three and I feel like that has a lot to do with its success aside from it being a comfortable shoe. One of the notable collabs that I have came across with (and own) are the Atmos X UnderMyCar Presents as well as the Unaffected collabs. The GT 2160s, however, feel like a hit-or-miss sometimes because of the choice of materials, but the Wood Wood, Above the Clouds, and the Imperfection pack are really nice.

Asics NYC is sweet and you should review them! All their retro and retro style runners are doing great now I think it’s because they are built well and are comfortable with great looks for decent price too.

My partner just gifted me a pair of the gel-NYCs and they are so comfortable. The gel-NYCs are definitely my favorite out of the group, they’re not squishy or anything but they have that reliable type of comfort that you just know you can rock all day and you’ll be good. Great video hes!

Comfort is objective, I don’t like squishy soft shoes so gel-nyc are fine for me 👍🏼 I haven’t tried Kayano-14 yet but if I come across a colorway that moves me I’m sure I will

I own all 3 models, as well as gel-nyc's... 1130's are my favorite.

I got some black and white Asics and it just says gel and they are wonderful got em at academy for 80 because the store was doing a 15 dollar off the original price so I scooped em up

If Asics had sizes, the Gel-Nimbus 9 is a good option as well.

I think unless you're sure to have narrow foot or you prefert9 havea verytightfitting, go half size up to your normal Nike size.

My favourite ASICS is the gel venture 6. Pretty under the radar with some great colorways

The NYC is the nicest looking model out of all of them, i've skipped all 3 of those for the better material and looks the NYC provides

I have all four, and gotta say although I probably wear the NYC the most, it's not as comfy as any of those three, in my personal opinion, and just doesn't have the same feeling of premium materials, although I think they are a very practical/daily wearable shoe.

@@younggotti8195 Agreed. Personally, I think the 1130 is probably the comfiest shoe ASICS make, I would say loosely speaking that it's their equivalent to NB's 990V3, both those shoes are absolute home-runs.

I think the 2160s look the best out of those 3

Actually, gt2160 is the coolest.

Gel-NYC is my personal favorite comfort wise, with 1130 a close second. I feel too much pressure under the front of my foot with Kayano 14. still comfortable though.

I feel Asics has taken over from NB. As a Millennial who grew up during the 90’s and 2000’s, I actually didn’t have such shoes as back then it was seen as generic and ugly gym shoes. This was when skate and platform shoes was all the hype, and I had those. But as an adult they really appeal to me now. As I’m now comfort over looks. And personally I do like the silver accents as I wear mostly silver jewelry. My only issue is with their quality control and production, as I’ve had 3 different Asics pairs already this year, Asics Gel NYC, and Asics Gel Nimbus 9, and had to return all of them due to defects. And regardless of brand, I’ve found one commonality: they’re all made in VIETNAM. Not just Asics, but Nike, Adidas and NB, all the shoes I’ve had that had quality control issues or defects, especially uneven and wonky shoe lace holes, as the upper has been glued onto the shoe unevenly, or simply the shoe lace hole is off by so much that one can really tell when looking at it, and it’s not pretty, where all made in Vietnam. Also heavy glue smell and glue stains are very common. And no they are not fake, and even bought directly from the app or the brand’s own webpage. Compared to the other running/lifestyle trainers, Asics was the most comfortable for me personally, as too soft tends to hurt my feet. I even prefer flat shoes over bouncy foam anyway, like Nike and Adidas. What’s more disappointing is that Asics is a Japanese brand, and Japan is known for its perfectionism when it comes to production and quality.

Hes, I've been following you since you did the flyknit racer to ultraboost sole swap. It's time to drop Nike and Adidas, the reasons are as follows. 1. (nike) Retros are tired, saturated, Jordan is not comfortable and just played out. Time to grow up 2.(adidas) ultraboosts are saturated, they have gone the way of Jordans except in a very short amount of time. Sure, boost is comfortable, but does that really matter anymore? Does one need to feel squishyness all the time? 3. New Balance, lasted the test of time, quality, made in USA/UK models. 4. Asics, yes there is considerable hype, but why not let dads wear hyped dad shoes? Nike/Jordan/adidas are the past
