She is Israeli-Vietnamese. In 1977 Israel rescued a ship of Vietnamese refugees and gave them all Israeli citizenship (hundreds of them). This Vietnamese community are very loyal in Israel and they all serve in the IDF. Their children speak fluent Hebrew and basically become completely integrated loyal Israeli people.

theworldvideos1 She's Israeli-Vietnamese (you can see she is born and raised in Israel, with perfect Israeli accent, and Israeli mannerism/body language). The Bnei Menashe only came in the last few years. Vietnamese-Israeli community came in 1970s. It's a nice community in Israel, but very small.

Any Israeli citizen can join the IDF, though only jewish and druze citizens are required to do so. Some arabs, bedouins, and other non-jewish citizens also choose to serve. Basically, if you didn't serve in the IDF, you are not really Israeli, and you will face some kinds of ostracism from people. So if this girl goes for a job in the future, even if it's at a bank, she will be looked at more favorably than any [jewish or not] citizen who didn't serve in the IDF. Also, certain jobs are completely off-limits to those who didn't serve, like security related jobs (police, airport, many government jobs).

+Geoff Short Yes I have, however, I don't believe in it. You're either born Jewish, through family, or not. A non Jewish person converting is like a Westerner converting to Chinese. There are a lot of Jewish schools in the world which refuse to accept the children of converts on the basis that they are not seen as Jewish. This Vietnamese woman is in the IDF but she's definitely not Jewish.

+ehdoh Doh Yeh..There are a lots of NE Indian and Myanmar(Chin) people in Israel. They are called bnei menashe, the lost tribe of Israel. About 10,000 people immigrated to Israel in the past decade. Those people are considered as Kirati people by Indian and "Chin" by the Burmese.

majority of the"palestinians" were imported by the british mandate in the 20's and 30's were they were attracted to by the higher standard of living and job opportunities. And they only become palestinians after the six day war. before that they were just "arab refugees".

It's impossible she's Jewish. She must be an immigrant and I'm surprised she was allowed into IDF.

+Ed Shed Ed, You don't have to be JEWISH, but you do have to be ISRAELI. That is how Israeli Arabs (both Muslim and Christian), Circasians, Bedouins and others (did I miss anybody, Bahai, perhaps?) are able to serve in the IDF.
