As a Hong Konger, The rice bit is so True. teachers and different classmates always ask me in lunch, "rice again?". but what they don't know is that rice goes with everything with different sauces and different vegetables and meat cooked in different ways, and having rice doesn't mean that it is only one dish

As an Indian, I eat rice with what every thing I get to eat on plate (things like papad, I get to eat that sometimes, and any vegetable left on my plate) tbh it tastes good and my stomach gets filled, I also like eating fried rice, or pulao it's really tasty, my mom makes it once in a month most of the time

I tried lunchable subs sometime around 5th grade and then threw up twice and got sent home. Never knew a sub could taste like bleach.

I remember one time I was eating rice during lunch and I put yogurt in it since it’s normal to in India. and my “friend” asked me what it was and I told her she responded with “eww that’s disgusting” after that I became traumatized and never ate food in school again. Then not even a week later the teacher was talking about how you should never judge what someone is eating even if it’s a frog so she said out loud “who would do that it’s so mean I know I would never”. The sad part is I didn’t know she was toxic till 4 years later

im Filipino from Philippines and we use Tagalog as our language :/

I never had this problem growing up in the hick town I live in. I had more trouble being called racial slurs and getting bullied. my parents would never let me have the same type of Vietnamese food I have for lunches at school because of it. On the contrary though, as more asian food has become more popular I have friends who are starting to try more asian snack food and meals and asking me if I know what they are like, "yes I fucking know I tried to get you to have this before" well the other problem is I can't take my friends anywhere because they don't know how to act when at an Asian restaurant, particularly my favorite Vietnamese food place. (I am Vietnamese and Bahn bao and pho bac are essentials) but they embarrassed me because they couldn't understand the waiters broken English so I had to order for them.

I got this recommended today .AND SO YOU DID!

As a Asian: we CANNOT and I repeat CANNOT survive without rice Edit: ahhh THANKSSS for the likes! And 400 comments damn

Yeah, 50% of the good food in America is junk and not healthy.. and most of the Asian food are healthy + tasty too, it's hard to find if you're outside Asia, a tasty healthy food. (sorry idk what happened to my English in this comment)

@@skiballl2813 there are a lot, English, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, assamese, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, kannada, Nepali, Odia, etc. and also one of the oldest languages SANSKRIT. There are many others.

I've actually tried Shrimp chips! They were in a Japan crate that my family used to get every month or so, and though they were in the normal chip shape, they were dang good! Favorite snack from that whole crate thing, and we have an Asian market that sells them, but I've never seen it until I already felt like we were pushing the limit on prices.

I cannot tell you how accurate this is

Took me waaaay too long but I just found a place that sold it last weekend! It was so good, gonna buy more.

i have one of those monthly snack crates that has a bunch of snacks from a select country each month, and one month i got snacks from the philippines. it came with sweet corn it was nice, honestly :) i often say this to peeps: "it's good to have an open mind and a big appetite!" oh and shrimp chips are AWESOME, i get em from the world market a lot, they're one of my favorite snacks honestly

Im gonna say this, but i had beans and rice in all of my lunchboxes everyday- And also shrimp chips are AMAZING

As an Asian, whenever we eat have a meal that is 100% rice-FREE, our mom would literally force us to eat our next meal because she says that we NEED to eat some rice for the day❤️🍚💫 And yes. If anyone asks. *Rice is life, whether you like it or not.*
