I feel like this song is my MaMa (my grandmother who raised me, and the most amazing woman I’ve ever had the privilege to know), speaking to me from heaven. She ALWAYS left a light on in the kitchen. It didn’t matter what time it was. If any of us came in and needed her, the kitchen light led the way to where she was. You had to walk through the kitchen to get to her bedroom. She would sit up and talk. It didn’t matter what state we were in when we came in… sober, drunk, excited, pissed off, in LOVE, heartbroken, happy, angry, right, wrong, it didn’t matter. She would wake up and talk. I didn’t realize that I picked up the same habit until my younger cousin told me how much she loved the fact that I always left the light on in the kitchen like MaMa always did. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ ALWAYS leave a light on in the kitchen 💖💖💖💖💖💖

What a challenge to not feel envy and gratitude in knowing that some were blessed with just such a mother. I strive to be for myself and my own, what I never knew.

This is one of those ones that’s full of emotions while telling an extremely real story. It’s goosebump inducing.
