Ashley Campbell Performs "Remembering" on Country's Family Reunion's New Series "Kickin' Back"
Ойын-сауық
Ashley Campbell, daughter of the legendary country artist, Glen Campbell, recently showed up on the set of RFD-TV’s “Country’s Family Reunion” set to perform and talk about her 2015 single, “Remembering.” Her father Glen is currently in the final stages of Alzheimer's Disease. The song is a biographical story about her special relationship with her dad. In the chorus she writes:
“Bone for bone we are the same
Bones get tired and they can’t carry all the weight
We can talk until you can’t even remember my name
Daddy don’t you worry, I’ll do the remembering.”
“Remembering” was her debut single in 2015. Campbell said that she wrote the song shortly after moving to Nashville and coming off a tour with her dad. “He was starting to decline with his Alzheimer's Disease and I knew that there was gonna be a time where he wouldn’t recognize me…that pretty soon he wouldn’t know who I was,” said Ashley. “We’ve always had a special connection. I wanted to have something that would be able to reach out to him even when he can’t really understand words anymore. And that’s music. This is a song is from me to him about how I’ll always have his back.”
Ashley performed the song for a new series on CFR called “Kickin’ Back,” where country artists were asked to invite someone who had NEVER been on the show to perform alongside regular stars such as Bill Anderson, Jeannie Seely, Jimmy Fortune, Rory Feek, Larry Gatlin, Gene Watson, and more. “Kickin’ Back” will premiere on RFD-TV in June. Watch a preview here:
Though her father will never perform again, Ashley is focused on her own burgeoning country career. Ashley made her debut on the Opry state in November of 2016 and will be performing at the “Opry Country Classics” show alongside Crystal Gayle, The Gatlin Brothers, Chuck Mead, TG Sheppard, and hosted by Larry Gatlin. The show will be at the Ryman Auditorium on April 14th at 7 PM in Nashville, TN.
Her single “Remembering” is available to download on iTunes and Amazon. Fans of the RFD-TV series can pre-order “Kickin’ Back” online.
Country’s Family Reunion airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on RFD-TV with an encore at midnight ET.

Hiya Wood. Just discovered this clip on my gismo. I was an instructor and examiner on industrial plant a few years back. You have to keep it together during classes even if you had a few beers the night before. Weakness was no option. You had to make sure that your students were going to be as safe as you were trained. Good job I never heard this tribute to a parent a couple hours before class. My mum's 101years old now, and she's just going through the motions of altzimers, and this song really hits the mark. Take care Bro.

I just heard this for the first time, and it made me cry. I was wondering the same thing. Why have I never heard this song before? She has a beautiful voice.
How can anyone not be tearing up when they are hearing this beautiful song
Beautiful. I cried. For her dad. For her. For all those that are forgetting, and the ones left remembering. I still remember. 😥

My most heartbreaking moment as a daughter was when my mama looked at me without recognition...but she didn’t have Alzheimer’s, she had cancer. But the last few months it took a toll on her mind.

I got to see Ashley, Glen and quite a few of his family members on his Goodbye Tour when they came through Little Rock. He had a lot of Family in Arkansas and they came to hear him sing. He brought them up on stage and they all got to sing with Cousin Glen. I was thinking of that night, of my Dad, and my daughter as I listened to this song. Damned if that sweet little girl didn’t make me cry. Beautiful melody and words...
Grammy worthy song if I ever heard one!

Very touching song Ashley has written for her Dad. I lost my Dad almost 2 years ago of Dementia. Twenty days shy of his 89th birthday. Thank you Ashley. Love and Prayers from Canada 🇨🇦❤🙏🕊🌷
I am BBC an RN . But, I never imagined caring for my father when he was dying. Never hesitated to answer the call… but he suffered from dementia for many years. I c out ups not cry. I felt he was set free. Thank you for your song. It has allowed me to finally cry and grieve for my father. I am so very grateful. I loved your father’s music and am grateful you possess his talent. You have given me a great gift. May God bless you and yours. 💕💕💕
I’ve been a fan of Glen Campbell since the late 1960’s. To me he is the greatest country singer ever. I’m indebted to him with many happy memories associated with his beautiful songs. He’s got a truly fine daughter who is talented in writing and performing songs. A truly touching song; Ms. Campbell. Your blessed dad must be smiling and watching from heaven with pride. God bless you and your beloved family.
Brought tears to my eyes, thinking about my baby and her babies….hope they never forget me…
GOD BLESS GLEN CAMPBELL, GOD BLESS THE CAMPBELL FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Like father, like daughter. A golden-haired blonde singing a country song, but quite meaningful and revealing, full of sympathy and bonding.
Incredibly moving when I first caught this clip.....and every time I see it to this day. Glen's friends in attendance felt the same way. Gorgeous song by Ashley honoring her Dad. Just beautiful.
I feel like crying someday when my daddy gets old I don't know how its going to be. Jesus be with Glen Campbell Soul we have Faith he's in Heaven praising your Name Jesus. Please be with Ashley and the family.
incredible, I'm 60 and my daughter is just 17, made me cry!
I am the child my dad remember when I saw him for the first time since his wife of 57 year's. Played a song I wrote in Montana and verify his sweetheart had passed away. He believed only me. No one else. Thank you. The song title is. " Lyons Paw." He is Retired Navy born in Little Rock Arkansas 1939. Dan McInnis Davis III Junior. Always Perfection in the Music and God given Family Talent ❤️🙏🙌
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Great tribute, great artist. Brings tears to this old man's eyes. RIP Glenn
My Dad passed from Alzheimer's too. I grew up singing along Glen Campbell's songs. I didn't know he died from Alzheimer's. Just learned today. His daughter singing this song made me cry.
Larry Gatlin's tears speak for all of us. I still have no clue how Ashley gets through this without losing it.

*Ashley Campbell is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.*

America the beautiful period.
Glenn and his wife did great job raising there kids RIP legend
Absolutely beautiful Ashley, you’re your Dads daughter that’s for sure ..
such a beautiful song sung by a beautiful loving daughter of glen campbell..so privileged to hear her sing so lovingly
No surprise to me that the daughter of such a talented, kind, and beautiful human as Glen would turn out to be such a beautiful and talented person. On the tour she speaks of, with her dad, he was exhibiting signs the Alzheimer's was rapidly advancing but bless her and sister and the crew for keeping it togetger and putting n a great final chapter for a great man and one of the finest pickers that ever picked up a guitar. And he taught himself on a 5 dollar guitar from Sears that his Dad bought him. Never had the honor of meeting but he greatly influenced my musical direction and 'Try a little kindness' was like m theme song of life for many years and still is. ✌️❤️
Glen u left us little glen here the legacy continues.
What an amazingly beautiful lady - both inside and out. Such depth to her soul. Glen was truly blessed to have a daughter like her.
This is a beautiful song and tribute to her Dad and it is so nicely presented.

What a beautiful song! It brought tears to my eyes. I loved Glen Campbell, very talented man. I watched Glen Campbell, I am me. I loved how his family were so involved in his life, doing what made him happy, helped him to remember. Now I see how talent runs through the family
Man inalways cry when I hear this song. Wow what a young lady. Your dad is smiling down on you my dear. Always he proud I'm sure he is very prour of you
Every time I listen to Ashley singing this song I cannot help crying. Her father ist with the Lord now. However, he was a real example in his wordly career what it means to live up to the standards of Jesus, his savior.
What a beautiful child, her daddy is smiling.
Beautiful , words are great , she's like Glen ! ♥
Listening to this with tears.
My dad didn't have alzheimer's but a version of dementia. I held his hand as he came off of the ventilator in 2016. I held his hand and rubbed his face with a cold cloth. It was an honor to watch him leave this life. Hoping he an Glenn are up there singing up a storm.
Glen was indeed a very rich rich man, Love is Priceless and what a priceless gift this young lady honored her Father with! Great Job!
What a stunningly beautiful young lady, ya done good Glen, your daughter is a precious gemstone in this world!
Wow what a beautiful tribute to her dad
Good God, I'm crying like a baby.
How did she sing that and not break down. Ashley beautiful songs come from beautiful people. Your a credit to your father
I just happened to hear this on a quick feed for 30 secs and had no idea this song was even out there...my dad was a traditional country singer and couldn't read music but hearing a song once or twice and he would get it.....I lost my dad in 1987 to cancer and it robbed him of memories within a couple months.... Thank You so very much for taking me back down the memory road as well as seeing the faces on this video from artist my dad would sing they're song's. Again thank You.
True Grit movie is on tonight and I decided to Google Glen Campbell. After listening to lots of his songs I found this one sung by Ashley. The song is just beautiful and so appropriate, made me cry.
I cry every time I hear this wonderful song.
Tears streaming down my face...
There is nothing like the love between a daughter and her dad. ❤
Ashley, You are really GREAT!!!!! I'm the son of greatest actor in my country..., perhaps just a little coincidence.... (: I love the work and a tribute of yours fathers job!!! I love to play country music, and all of yours dad music!!!! Great repect!!!!!!! :)
what a beautiful tribute to one of my favorite artists and she is joining the list
What a great and beautiful song and delivery.
OUTSTANDING, JUST LIKE HER DAD ! R.I.P. SIR.
That is the most beautiful tribute to a fantastic man.
Ashley said sing in this song the first songs she learned was Blackbird by the great legend music songwriter performer Paul McCartney! Did you know that The Beatles got me into liking country and western songs. Because The Beatles did country songs themselves. A lot of there early songs had country influenced guitars in there songs, then eventually started writing and singing country western songs especially on The Beatles White album!
To be remembered is all we truly want.
Crying. Such a beautiful dedication to her father.
So touching. For those of us who have dealt with a loved one who deteriorated and succumbed to Alzheimer's, this song captures so much. " You are standing right in front of me and slipping away" , wow. To experience how they loose themselves is like stepping into an abyss of the soul.
The man did so much for the new music scene we should not forget people like Glenn they are the true pioneers of the country we all love today ❤ rest in peace my friend
She as talented as her dad , beautiful song
Very touching song, yr dad should be proud of you!
I lost my dad a year ago, and he dementia. I heard this song for the first time then.
There are voices that after 49 stay in my mind. One is Eva Cassidy, she could tell a story so beautifully. The next is now Ashley for me. Gifted as well as her brothers and father. Blessed to have so many memories.
Brought tears to my eyes.
