Glen's banjo player for quite a few years....
Carl Jackson was something else - respect he had for Glenn Campbell was absolute and Glenn’s daughter was in very safe hands. This is a treasure to listen to!

Carl is Ashley's godfather.
In 1972, when Glen was performing at the Clay County Fair in Spencer, Iowa, a friend and I were invited by Glen into his trailer after we had stopped to get his autograph. Carl Jackson was there also, so they both signed a program for each of us, but before we left they also played Wichita Lineman and Gentle on my Mind. I was 25 then, and am now 75 - but I remember that day like it was yesterday. Both Glen and Carl were so nice, and so talented, and it is so good to see Carl sing Gentle on my Mind and play that guitar. I was very impressed with his banjo skills back then, and am just as impressed with his guitar skills now. It's sad to think of that horrible disease - Alzheimers, that took Glen Campbell's life, but I'm sure he's playing for God and his angels up in heaven now. And I'd like to add, that besides being extremely attractive, Glen's daughter Ashley is talented both vocally and with that banjo.

Glen was always a modest man. He was impressed, surprised that "real, famous musicians" would include him in their groups. I watch over and over this one -- kzread.info/dash/bejne/d4if3K1yoLuzmdI.html -- in which he looks around at all the other country stars and almost can't believe he's there with THEM!

Beautiful brilliant playing and singing. Anyone who doesn’t like this has something wrong with them. Thanks for this beautiful song John Hartford
Carl,s voice, pitch, timing are among the best I ever heard. Clear diction and stunning guitar work. Ashley is a credit to her Dad. The whole group are on a superior level. I am so glad to have discovered this goldmine of serious talent. Thank you.

I don't know who did the arranging, but I loved the orchestration. This is one of my top go-to performances of one of my favorite songs.
I love watching a group of amazing musicians play together... because you can tell they love to play the music.
I"m quite sure that Glenn is smiling down on his beautiful young lady and is very proud of Ashley!🙏🙏🙏
Carl Jackson is a treasure. Ashley inherited her dad's talent for playing.
Probably one of the best covers of this beautiful Glenn Campbell song. Whenever I hear this song it's like listening to a tribute directly to Glenn Campbell. I hope I can say it, but what a lovely and talented daughter Ashley Campbell is, and dedicated to preserving her dad's legacy as well as securing hers.
I am so proud to say carl Jackson is from my home town of Louisville mississippi
When you see Jimmy Capps stop playing and applaud you can say you've had a great day! Carl Jackson is a phenomenal guitarist!
This is my first time seeing Ashley and Wow is she special. Had no idea that Glen even had a daughter, let alone such an amazing talent. It’s a downright shame that she isn’t more well known.

Oh My!! Understatement!! You KNOW he's proud of his daughter. I saw a clip of him and her playing together. She surely inherited his awesome talent.....an extention of Glen Campbell in female form!! He's still with us, though he's gone.
My late mother’s favourite song. Brings a tear to my eye even now. Beautiful.
Que prazer ouvir essa dupla cantando e tocando, assim como os integrantes da banda. Parabéns!
His music is the wind in my heart when I'm remembering times and he's singing it's like a cool breeze on a hot summers day.
Ashley comes by her talents and looks naturally- I'm always happy when musical families keep the music flowing- such a wonderful song, a favorite-
I have played Bluegrass music or over 50 years, patterned after Tony Rice but Carl is still one of my favorite musicians. What a player! Great version of this song!
Carl does this song justice. And Ashley… wow 🤩

Aaah like....WOW! I never heard of any of Glen Campbell's children. This young lady is fantastic! What really caught my ear at first was Carl's voice that guy he's got a sweet voice. Love his tone. Pitch perfect. I didn't know about them until about 15 minutes ago but definitely a big fan! This is the best thing about KZread finding these artists you've never seen or heard before. Again, just wow! all of them, all the musicians.

I sat in my dads old ford truck while he worked as carpenter, on summer break we returned from california to visit our father, texas born, it was always good to come home to the Lone Star State.....while daddy worked building houses I Sat out in the truck on hot summer texas days with nothin to do but scan the radio for my favorite song Rhinestone Cowboy...........Thank You Glen....Your an ICON forever
Carl Jackson has been a friend of the family since Glen discovered him all those long years ago. Carl is a whizz not only on the banjo, but any stringed instrument he touches. First time I ever saw him, he was indeed playing banjo. In fact, in my record collection, I have his banjo album.
I listen to this version every single evening. Ashley is a very TALENTED young lady as is most of the younger children. Carl was a guest on Glen Campbell's show MANY, MANY TIMES! Glen always said he learned how to play the guitar from Carl. I doubt that Glen needed Carl but they were definitely very good friends and played together until Glen couldn't sing anymore. Glen Campbell never forgot how to play the guitar. He just didn't know what he was playing. One in a TRILLION!! R.I.P.

I saw Glenn and Carl three times in Brisbane Australia. The third concert, we were in the middle of an airline strike, but Glenn and Carl drove 1200 miles - sydney to brisbane and return so as not to disappoint us. It was virtually unplugged - and it was 1974. Great memories - what a team.

Carl was in Glen’s backing band Caladonia(sp?) from the 70s up through the mid 80s. He played banjo, fiddle, and mandolin mostly in the band. But also guitar. He’s a very talented musician and went on to do work as a producer as well. I’m sure you get that Glen would’ve been joking, but in case someone reads this and thinks that might actually have been the case: If Glen said that about Carl teaching him - he was giving Carl a compliment and clearly joking in his typically humble way. Glen played guitar before Carl was born. Literally. Glen was born in 1936 and started playing at age 4. Carl was born in 1953. By 1954, Glen had already landed a full time gig playing on the radio and a local TV program in Albuquerque. And by the time that he and Carl actually crossed paths Glen had worked for nearly a decade as a guitarist for the Wrecking Crew. He played on the studio versions of songs by everyone from Elvis to Sinatra, The Beach Boys (he actually toured with them in Brian’s role briefly), the Mamas and the Papas, and a lot of Phil Spector’s heyday stuff. He did that, playing on basically every genre of music with the best sight readers in the game, without knowing how to read music. Which is astonishing.
This rendition is near perfection.🎯🎼🎶🎵🎯🎵🎯💎
This girl is an old soul, one of a kind voice, totally awesome,I loved her dad,and now her too
Ashley & Carl do an absolute beautiful rendition of her dads old hit! Great vocals and banjo and guitar work! Outstanding performance by all! 🎵👏
Awesome Job! ... Loved Glen Campbell... She must be one of the Most Beautiful women in AMERICA
So loving these dedicated musicians, and the joy they share.
Ive been a huge fan of Glen Campbell from way back and this is beautiful ❤
Carl Jackson …. A New Voice for me. Absolutely Great. Thank you Ashley you brought me here.
I think personally this is one off the best versions of this great song Carl Jackson voice is brilliant and Ashley goes in perfect harmony’s she is a excellent banjo player as was the Master banjo man John Hartford I’m sure Glenn and john our proud rest there souls
Ashley's a lucky girl because she inherited a great amount of her dad's talent.
Did anyone else watching this cry with joy?
The song and the performance are of course super. Thank God for all this beauty!
Ashley Campbell looks like an ANGEL. An absolute Angel.
Best country song ever and Glen's best hit. She honors her dad in the most awesome way. Thank you for sharing!

Beautiful song, so great to see young and old playing together
I absolutely love this song. They both killed it.
The arrangement and everything about is glorious... sometimes you hear a song in a new light, that you were kinda on the fence about, and you just go ahhhhhh. He's an incredible voice too.
Amazingly clear voice. The driving banjo keeps the song moving. The leads on guitar and banjo are amazing, not flubbing a note in one-take in front of a live audience. Not like rock where mistakes can hide in the storm. The classiest hobo song ever.
Goose bumps - how grateful am I to have ears to hear when Glen came out with this originally right on through to this moment. Thank you all, and, of course, to Glen where ever he sings now.
Ashley can pick it too just like her daddy and what a beautiful voice
for some reason i got weepy as soon as the music started, tears of joy i guess. it's always been such a beautiful song.
This is an incredible live performance of this song.
How wonderful that she is following in her amazing father's footsteps. I know Dad is very proud. RIP to one of the finest...
John sings this excellently and Ashley' banjo solo is the best I've ever heard.
i love country music talking almost about everything in life love friendship and others
Every single person in this band is fantastic. I immensely enjoyed that, thank you.

Great music is loved all over the world 👍 thanks for sharing
That was beautiful - a real tribute to a great singer and guitarist. Their voices blend beautifully and nothing needs to be said about the quality of the guitar & banjo playing!
Back in the early 70's I did not appreciate the complexity and talent, harmony needed to sing this song. Glen Campbell was one of a kind. This Jackson guy absolutely nailed the cover.
How can the daughter make this better then the original dad's version............ Amazing.....
Glenn Campbell was one of the best Guitar Players in the World.
People say some songs should not be sung by anyone else. Well this song re writes the whole ethos of that. If I go to heaven please let me hear this song again.
That was an AMAZING composition of true talent! Totally nailed it!
This is absolutely breathtaking
Thank You! It makes me Sad to know Glen is no longer here, but his music is forever!
That was just so good. I am a Welshman living in Japan.....my Japanese wife was amazed,,,,,,,me? memories of my former life. One of the best covers I have ever heard! That was so good!

Love this! Carl Jackson & Ashley Campbell both are so talented! And the way he looks at her(fatherly) is so sweet! Great job by both!
Are you kidding me with that awesome voice?! It sounds like angles came down to earth and performed for us. WOW!
She just gets better. I love this song so much .
The addition of the banjo, fiddle, steel guitar and banjo enhance the arrangement. Beautiful rendition
Just wow ❤️🩹 Beautiful tribute. Thank you 😊
Oh, my days!!!! How beautiful this recoring of these two is.... my heart is melting. ❣👍 Carl played lots with her dad. She's Glen Campbell's daughter!! Oh, my days. 😮
If I could get a hug or a kind word from any of these two people, my decade would be made. The band is legend too. My love to all of them... from Copenhagen, Denmark.
What a magnificent rendition of a beautiful song, the great man would have been so proud!
What a gem of a performance! First class!!!
Thank you for posting. This may well be my favorite rendition of one of my favorite songs.
Nothing short of being 'BRILLIANT'.
I fell in love with Carl watching him play "Dueling Banjos" with Glen Campbell! ❤️ KZread that epic moment! I think Carl was 22 years old.
I adore this song 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I remember first hearing age 9 … now I’m 60 😅
As close to flawless that you can get this side of heaven! ✝️😇
We have the Great John Hartford to thank for this wonderful performance. Not forgetting the amazing Glen Cambell ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Another touching song by the daughter of Glen Campbell and Carl Jackson. It's very moving watching and listening to Ashely playing and singing one of her daddy's songs. And Carl Jackson is someone I have not heard of, and has a very clean, skilled, Tony Rice style of pickin on a dreadnaught guitar. This video captivated me. Yes, I noticed Larry Gatlin off to the side watching with a seasoned, warm look on his face.
