Seems like its going to be more efficient use of time and resources to rob than to work. There's gonna be some real villains in the A2 tests if we can loot 25% of the value of the labor spent putting together caravans in just a couple minutes. Players need incentive to defend caravans that aren't theirs, and there needs to be a balance between the effort and risk of running a caravan, and the consequence of robbing one. Its pretty awesome seeing you and other content creators getting to test this stuff out!! I can't wait for A2!!

I agree some people need more motivation to guard caravans, and I think node loyalty will be some of it. We shall see how it goes in alpha 2 whether or not something else needs to be added! It was pretty awesome seeing all the familiar faces in there!

I hope there are nodes that develop to be corrupted nodes so that red players can live there. And we can go there to hunt them. I hope that it's reasonably likely that reds drop items. It would also be cool if there was a stat on gear that was a % chance to drop or not to drop the item.

That would be pretty interesting, I do know there’s a highwayman faction that deals with raiding caravans and possibly more, but we don’t know much about it right now. You have to be very corrupted to drop gear, so unless someone goes hog wild ganking it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

I love open world PvP but only where there is legit risk and reward. Not just risk reward for caravans. Is there a risk reward system to impact solo open world PvP. Will gankers have risk? Is there reward for killing pkers or "reds"

The corruption system is something that gankers will have to contend with as if they kill someone that doesn't or can't fight back they become corrupted. Which let's them be hunted down by bounty hunters, which are players who decide to hunt down the corrupted. Corruption lowers their power against other players and if they get corrupted enough can even drop some of their equipment on death. It's fairly complicated so I recommend checking it out on ashesofcreation.wiki/Bounty_hunters and ashesofcreation.wiki/Corruption

The Caravan system is a joke. There is 100% risk for the caravan owner. There is 100% reward for the successful attackers. No one in their right mind will ever transport their goods by Caravan in the game. I see a large demand for Cargo Mules and Mounts of all kinds.

It’s why testing and feedback in a2 will be critical for when systems need it. Although there is still some risk for the attackers as they have to transport it back themselves as well unless they just unpack all the crates right there and leave a ton of money/resources on the table. Will have to see how it goes.
