Ascensore Castello d'Albertis-Montegalletto

Der Ascensore Castello d'Albertis-Montegalletto ist ein ziemliches Kuriosum. Es handelt sich um eine kuppelbare Standseilbahn kombiniert mit einem vertikalen Aufzug! Die Geschichte dieser Anlage geht in das Jahr 1929 zurück. Damals wurde das Quartier oberhalb des Castello d'Albertis am sogenannten Montegalletto grosszügig erweitert. Zur erschliessung wurde ein 70m Hoher Aufzug in der Berg gebaut. Der Zugang erfolgte über einen fast 300m langen Zugangsstollen von der via Balbi in der Nähe des Bahnhof Principe. Die beiden Kabinen fassten je 20 Personen. Nach anfänglich guter Auslastung und einer Modernisierung 1965 wurde der Lift immer schlechter ausgelastet, was vor allem am langen Zugangsstollen lag. Daher wurde der Lift 1995 nach der 30 Jahren Regelung stillgelegt.
2001 wurde eine neue Projektidee aufgelegt die Strecke zwischen via Balbi und Corso Dogali wieder mechanisch zu erschliessen. Um die Strecke im Zugangsstollen zu überbrücken wurde durch Poma Italia (ex. Agudio) eine Interessante Anlage verwirklicht. Sowas wie eine Transformers Seilbahn.
Der Benutzer steigt in der via Balbi in eines der beiden Fahrzeuge, Blau oder Orange. wie eine Standseilbahn aber durch die Front.
Danach geht es Seilgezogen wie eine Standseilbahn rund 240m durch den Stollen in den Berg hinein. Die Wagen fahren dazu mit Rädern auf einem meterspur Eisenbahngeleise. Das Förderseil befindet sich auf der Aussenseite der Fahrbahn. Der Antrieb befindet sich in der "Talstation" also beim Einstieg in Balbi. Die Bahn überwindet so die ersten 3 Höhenmeter.
Danach folgt ein kuriosum, eine halbe Abtsche Ausweiche bei welcher die Fahrbahnen getrennt werden. Hier befand sich ursprünglich der Einstieg in den Lift.
Gleichzeitig triff der Gegenwagen, welcher mit 1,6m/s die vertikale Strecke hintersich gebracht hat ein.
Der Wagen wird vom Förderseil abgekoppelt und mit Reifenförderen in den vertikalen Aufzug buxiert. Gleichzeitig wird der zweite wagen aus dem anderen Aufzug herausgezogen und an das Umlaufende Seil gekoppelt.
Danach geht es senkrecht 70m nach oben. Der Liftschacht ist der alte vom Aufzug. Beide Aufzüge besitzen einen eigenen Antrieb mit Gegengewicht.
Der andere Wagen fährt gleichzeitig auf der horizontalen Strecke durch den Tunnel Richtung via Balbi.

Between the travel of cabin number 1 from Via Balbi to the Abt type switch and the travel of cabin number 2 from the Abt type switch and via Balbi, the rope runs in the same direction since cabin number 1 grips the rope on the left side of the track while cabin number 2 grips the rope on the right side of the track (seen from Via Balbi in the direction of the Abt type switch). Only in the event that one of the two cabins is out of service, the rope that serves to drag the cabins along the horizontal route reverses direction with each trip of the only cabin remaining in service.

Opera di trasporto pubblico molto particolare e probabilmente anche rara al mondo. Il disassamento tra il pozzo dell'ascensore e la ex galleria pedonale ha complicato molto le cose. Però Amt potrebbe un po' mascherare la piccola officina che si vede dietro alle vie di corsa. Così tutto aperto dà al viaggiatore una impressione poco tranquillizzante.
