That’s because this old equipment requires actual maintenance on a regular monthly basis. Companies can make more money with repairs and replacements than maintenance. Most service contracts are an unstated amount of time, 4 times per year. This equipment requires more than that.

Vraiment magnifique cette technologie électromécanique la pas d'électronique ni d'informatique que du contacteur et du relais. Dommage que maintenant tout est passé à l'électronique. Merci pour cette belle vidéo 👍👍👍👍

very well engineered and well oiled machine, works as precise as a Swiss Watch. The brake set is is an amazing feat of engineering. The traction machine with the double motor appears to be similar to the Otis tail twister for leveling after the main hoist motor's field has dropped out. Three Phase AC 340V or higher? A 1st class job with the installation, conduit, nice clean wiring.

@@YvesMamin Pretty close to the 440V AC used in the States at 60 Hz. My former job had a hydro elevator from the 1930's, the power unit was a 5HP induction 208V 3 Phase AC Motor. Some years ago the main electrical panel had to be replaced, the electricians doing the final check, got the phases right! Motor turned in the right direction.

Interesting machinery. But - for which purpose is the 2nd motor? The first one surely is a three phase AC induction motor, but the 2nd looks like a DC motor, isn't it? Probably battery-powered (for security) when mains will fail ?
