(Siren Starts at 0:40) Alright, so I thought that I would start off the year 2022 by filming an undocumented T-121 since I haven't filmed many T-121's. This is the second T-121 that I've filmed sounding up close. By the way, I'm not counting the T-121 fail in Gilbert, IA. What's unique about this T-121 is that it has aluminum horns. The first T-121 that I filmed sounding up close also has aluminum horns which is in Roland, IA. Anyways, my friend Alex decided to join me for this siren test which made it more fun! This was my first time filming a siren in Boone County. When 1 PM came, nothing. Me & Alex were getting antsy due to the EMA not testing at 1 PM. When 1:03 PM came, our scanners were finally sounding tones and after a bit, this T-121 roared to life in Alert. This was probably one of the loudest T-121's that I've ever heard up close! Unfortunately, I forgot my hearing protection since I was in a rush to get here. I ended up having to cover my ears when I got under it due to how loud it was! Once the test was over, we just chatted for a while and went back to our vehicles. We also placed audio recorders in different towns on our way to this T-121 so once we got back in our vehicles, we went back to retrieve our audio recorders to see if we got anything. Alex placed his recorder in Madrid, IA while I placed by the thunderbolt 1003 in Woodward, IA to see if it tested with Boone County. Unfortunately, the thunderbolt 1003 didn't sound but Alex got an epic ambiance! Overall, today was an awesome day! That's all I gotta say for now. Check out the info below!
