As Good As They Say? | Hyundai Ioniq 5
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Ioniq 5 is a Mid-Sized SUV that looks like a hatchback. The '22 Long Range RWD has a WLTP range of 292 Miles (we know this is always waaay off) but I was interested to see how the range changed in colder temperatures. Also any RWD car with TC off is fun..
Enjoy,
Sam

Looking forward to the hot N version! Rumor says it'll have 600hp!
Hey Sam! How are you?
I'd have one of these if it was a hybrid!
ride quality at 20 could be touch better...u gotta give us more than that mate. U r riding on smooth surface at 20mph....what's wrong with ride quality?
I have had an IONIQ 5 since March 2022 (16,000 miles). It's a good car but very inefficient. I drive this car slower than any car I've ever had and it doesn't get close to the range stated by Hyundai. I plan on selling it and getting the Model Y.

Sounds odd - I drive around Sydney and suburbs and get 16kW/100 km [3.9 miles/kW] which is a bit better than WLPT. What regen level do you use?

@@argystar I use iPedal on streets and Level 3 on the freeway. My driving is a 60% freeway.

@@RSV4JeffA Freeway driving offers little opportunity for regen, which therefore pushes down your average efficiency. My driving is only 10% freeway (but generally at 75 mph or faster) and the rest is suburban commuting/travelling to appointments/shopping and the like - generally short trips distance wise although in heavy traffic can still be 'long' trips with average speeds between 10 and 30 mph. My driving mode is 99% NORMAL with Sports used occasionally to make a quick getaway from traffic lights when the lane ahead has parked cars and there's a relatively slow ICE vehicle beside me. These days I can be in front of them before their engine has restarted. So the upshot is that there is something still not making sense about your terrible efficiency experience.

@Jeffrey I nominally use i-Pedal and normal mode everywhere but in fact use cruise control in both city and freeway driving whether it be 5 mph traffic jam or 75 mph open road conditions. So mostly I am using the speed control switch rather than the accelerator to adjust speed. The only difference in wet weather is that I use sports mode to lock on awd. I also use the speed switch rather than the accelerator to resume from rest when in cruise control. How does my practice compare to yours?
Shockingly awful camera work 😩
