@@krillin3350 The story of the rat cook was really well known, like a bed time tale for kids. No doubt Arya heard it from old Nan, or in some song. In the story the rat cook is punished, but not because he fed some prince to his father, or just plain murder, but because he broke guest right and killed a guest in his home. This was one of the ways the importance of guest right is shown in the story. Its why Walder was so reviled by the rest of the kingdom, and the riverlands rebelling.

For anyone interested, the pie thing was probably inspired by Shakespeare's _Titus Andronicus_ . The lead character in that play makes a pie out of two royal miscreants who rape and mutilate his daughter. He then dishes the pie up to their equally despicable mother before killing her. It's one of Shakespeare's most graphically violent revenge tragedies. A pretty good movie adaptation starring Anthony Hopkins was made in 1999.

People often blame it on D&D - and there is definitely fire behind that smoke. But the lions share of the blame lies of GRR Martin for selling the adaptation rights so early. When he sold them book #5 wasn't even published yet and already took him 6 years to finish - the likelihoood of the series finishing before he did was basically a certainty considering there were 7 books planned total.

Hands down, one of the best revenge scenes I ever saw in cinematic history. Arya is all like, You killed my family and you 'really' thought you were going to get away with it?

I remember watching this scene and had no clue that he was about to die, I just assumed it was more politics between him and House Lannister. I had forgotten about Arya and had grown accustomed to the Stark family meeting a road block at every turn. I was floored when Arya took off her mask, I was like "OH MY GOD".

The way Walder lifts the pie crust to show the finger/thumb is reminiscent to Catelyn lifting Roose Boltons sleeve revealing his chain mail. Bless ya, Arya! Did mum & dad proud!😊

IMHO, Arya Stark is one of the three most capable and badass characters in all of GoT. The growth of Arya, throughout the books/ episodes, is one of my all time favorite character arcs in any fantasy books or show.

What’s interesting about this is that in their world, this type of killing is considered dishonourable. It’s why Jamie is dishonoured, because he slew the mad king with his back turned. I’d like to see a conversation between Arya and Jamie in the books. Because she doesn’t care about those customs of men, she’s probably say, “I don’t understand what all the fuss is all about. You did what you had to do. It was a good kill.”

This is literally the only time Arya uses another face after 2 seasons of being in Braavos, and the one use of it is still completely pointless. You can't make this up. D&D truly didn't give the remotest shit about the story in Seasons 5-8. I'll never get over how they ruined what should've been the greatest show in TV history.

A few memorable scenes does not a good season make. The finale in Braavos was a trainwreck.

There were many great characters in Game of Thrones, but Arya might have been the best!!! Even as a young girl you could tell she was going to be SPECIAL With her list of people she was going to kill, or should I say did kill!!!

There is a bad revenge and a good revenge. Most people do the bad way, because this easy. The good way is harder, and most people fail in the way. But the hardest way is a cool revenge. Arya Stark, you are cool.

One of my Favorite scenes... Then the open of the next season when she is wearing his face and poisons all the men involved in the red wedding.

Naming my daughter after Arya !!! The underdog ended up being my favorite from the beginning

It sounds similar to Cersei's dialogue, "look at me, it's the last face you'll see before you die." Cersei and Arya do have something in common. No wonder Tywin told his cupbearer that she reminds him of his daughter.

Thing about Arya, she wasn't crazy...she refused to kill Lady Crane because she'd done nothing to her. What she was, was an avenging angel.

I mean, she was almost tricked into murdering her sister for basically no reason. I wouldn’t her mind was super sound.

I don’t know whoever said revenge doesn’t feel good. This was soo satisfying and it wasn’t even my family that was killed. So I can just imagine

Still one of the be set shows on television

Damn! I can watch this scene a million times and not get bored. The only scenes that top this one are the purple wedding and the death of house Frey. And the trial and execution of Littlefinger is a close fourth. Three of the top four involve Arya killing at least one person.

I dont watch this show but i do know who he is and what he did to her family so I say good on her!!

The first time I saw Arya's revenge on Walder Frey I got up from my seat and began cheering, "YESSS! She did it!!!! The old bastard got what he deservedat last!" You rock, Arya!!!

She’s the best character in the entire series.

Salute to Arya Stark" she returns home. And sends all those Frey's. The murdering Bastards" straight to hell where they belong ! She kill it, Literally" Arya Well Done

This scene and the one where she takes the face of Walder Frey are my 2 favorite scenes in the entire series.

Shouldn't she have waited until AFTER he took a bite to tell him?
