Totally loved this movie. Everyone did justice to their parts. So refreshing to see Aravind Swami do such an outstanding performance. I wish there is part 2 of the movie. Jayaji was fascinating. What a life!! I never knew these things about her 🙏
MGR is surely having a ball with this movie in heaven. Perfecting casting for every role.
Arvind looked like MGR! But MGR or anyone else can never look like the MOST handsome Tamil hero, ARVIND SWAMY!!!

But, No one can't be transparent like MGR. he's True leader.. take any actor at present, they can't even think about getting into election. he's his the only actor to get into politics and won people's heart in real life.

Aravind has worked a lot not to replicate MGR which is not easy. , however keeping focused on the mannerism of MGR. wonderful job and you are indeed a great actor.

Superb performance by Arvind Swami and his modesty and humbleness in every interview is so palpable...He may not be a trained actor but he sure is a natural, from his very first movie till date, one cant find any fault, he does become the character he plays. A very versatile and competent actor who quite obviously garners all the attention for his drop-dead good looks, but the person behind the physicality is so so inspiring. Thank you for the movies and everything Sir, a huge huge fan...
I would not say its a national award winning performance by Arvind,but he was good! but the show stealer after kangana is undobtedly Samuthirakani! he is in to his character! another great performance by him. waiting for his role in RRR.

@@Rowrow2 So is Kangana as Jaya ji. Hope the situation improves and this movie is highly appreciated 4 all the hard work which was put into it. Please people, go see the movie. Don't worry about nay sayers. It's a great tribute to a v great daughter of the Mother Land played by another one. 🙏

@@johnparbhu5128 the movie is released in the pandemic times. People at any cost don't want to go to theatres. But the performances are top notch and I am sure it will be appreciated.
The movie #Thalaivii #Thalaivi is the biggest blockbuster to be made in India 🇮🇳 ever.

In Iruvar , Mohanlal did a great performance , but he played himself . There is no MGR . In Thalaivi , Arvind Swamy imitated MGR & he played it brilliantly which is needed for a biopic genre film .

Bharadwaj does interview befoew thalaivi and releases after release, beautiful ploy to get views! but its a man's world, he praises arvind and sort of grudgingly applauds kangana, but kangana rocks really, if she does not win nationa award for bst actress in 2022, then national award has no meaning seriously!

@@jayantmalik3192 it's ur opinion and the political face of kangana but there is a true kind face for her, if u wnt to know just watch the interview of the makup man who is a malaylii,this movie was shoot during corona pandemic and many coworkers were in a difficult condition, kangna no matter she helped many workers in the movie financially during this pandemic and she never tweeted that in public or just speak about that, that is the character we should appreciate about, not what she is talking rubbish about parties and all

As it's rife on social media, the whole movie belongs to the greatest story writer of India cinema, vijayendra Prasad and the way he conceived the scenes of mgr and Jayalalithaa, the tension between them. every scene is a stealer no wonder that mr Prasad gave India cinema it's greatest showman story telling genius,SS Rajamouli,who broke the north south barrier with Bahubali and paved the way for off beat film makers like mani ratnam to plan a two parts movie like ponniyin Selvam.👍🙂

This is supposed to be a sarcastic joke right. Greatest story writer.. bahubaali is a shameless rip off so many period films and lion king.. but I agree to ur point.. the film in someway was able to capture the imagination of whole country north and south..

With the release of OTT, lot of people who aren't native speakers are watching regional films. They also would be interested in knowing the background of the movies that they see. There's nothing disgusting about it. Also neither Arvind Swamy nor BR is a malayali. Should they both converse in a language that they don't speak just to satisfy some narrow minded people's ego?
